Today, 10/10, we join the worldwide pickleball community in celebrating the gameโ€”and the people who make it so special.

Founded by the World Pickleball Federation and first celebrated on 10 October 2020, World Pickleball Day is about sharing the fun and welcoming new players. From that very first hit to the โ€œjust one more gameโ€ that keeps us on court longer than planned, thereโ€™s plenty to love!

It is more than playing Pickleball. Itโ€™s the friendships, the laughs and the warm welcome at our clubs that make pickleball such a joy. A big thank you to the players, coaches and volunteers who keep our courts busy and help newcomers find their feet. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Whether youโ€™re a regular player or curious to give it a go, come along, pick up a paddle and join the fun.

What a fantastic morning at ๐†๐ซ๐ž๐ž๐ง๐›๐š๐ง๐ค ๐ฒ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐๐š๐ฒ!

We had the opportunity to ๐ญ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐›๐ซ๐š๐ง๐-๐ง๐ž๐ฐ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ• ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐ž-๐›๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐ญ ๐ฉ๐ข๐œ๐ค๐ฅ๐ž๐›๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐œ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฌ โ€” and what a great day it was!

Around ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŽ ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐š๐ฒ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ joined us during the morning, filling the beautiful new courts with great games, plenty of laughter, friendly competition and lots of smiles.

A very big ๐“๐‡๐€๐๐Š ๐˜๐Ž๐” ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐š๐ญ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ž ๐–๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐œ๐จ๐œ๐ค๐ฌ for these amazing courts and for helping make this exciting new pickleball venue a reality.

Thank you also to ๐๐ข๐œ๐ค๐ฅ๐ž๐›๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐€๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐š for allowing us the opportunity to go out and play. We certainly gave the courts a good workout!

Last weekend I was truly humbled by the generosity, kindness and community spirit of our Queensland pickleball family.

I have been involved in many sporting events over the years, but I have never seen a community come together quite like this. Every raffle ticket purchased, every sausage sold, every donation made, every volunteer who gave up their time, every sponsor who stepped forward, and every player who entered the tournament helped make something extraordinary happen.

Today I am incredibly proud to say that every dollar raised have been distributed to our Queensland players representing Australia at the Pickleball World Cup in Vietnam.

Our players have expressed their sincere gratitude. They know this support comes from a community that believes in them and is proudly standing behind them as they wear the green and gold.

The tournament itself was everything pickleball should be. The courts were filled with laughter, great music, friendly competition, plenty of chasing after pickleballs, and smiles wherever you looked. It wasn't about DUPR points or medals. It was about friendship, community and supporting a fantastic cause.
