ST ANDREW’S SWIMMING CLUB – AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS - What a remarkable 2 weeks at the Australian Swimming Championships – the absolute pinnacle of racing in our country.
Across the combined Age and Open Championships, our St Andrew’s Swimming Club family delivered an extraordinary performance to finish 9th Overall in Australia. To stand inside the National Top 10 is a phenomenal achievement and a reflection of every swimmer, coach, family member and supporter who makes our club what it is.
This was a result built by 51 terrific individual and relay swimmers, with every athlete contributing to the points tally, the energy and the spirit of the team. But just as importantly, every member of our club contributes daily to the culture that continues to drive our success.
The Australian Championships is always a rollercoaster. Swimmers arrive with dreams, pressure, nerves and excitement – all chasing the chance to be their very best. Sometimes it works exactly as planned, and sometimes it doesn’t. That is the beauty of swimming.Swimming teaches accountability. It teaches resilience. It teaches that success and disappointment can sit side by side. It creates friendships, memories and life lessons that stay with you forever. It teaches us to keep showing up. And through it all, we are lucky to be surrounded by people who care deeply – people who want us to succeed and who stand beside us no matter the result.
Special thanks to Ash, Brad, David, Bill and Kirsten for their incredible leadership, passion and tireless work throughout the championship and throughout the year. Coaches ride the same emotional rollercoaster as the swimmers and we are so grateful for their wisdom, expertise and belief in our athletes.

While medals and placings are exciting, what stood out most was the way our swimmers represented the club – with humility, courage, professionalism and support for one another.
That is what St Andrew’s Swimming Club is about.
A club where people chase excellence.
A club where people care.
A club where young athletes grow not only as swimmers, but as people.
To every swimmer who raced, every family who travelled, every volunteer who helped, every coach who guided and every supporter cheering loudly from pool deck and afar – thank you.
To finish 9th in Australia is outstanding. But the real victory is the culture, the connection and the people behind it.
St Andrew’s Swimming Club – proud, united and only getting stronger. Sincere thanks to Swimming Australia and all the officials and volunteers for a fabulous event.
