June is Prolapse Awareness Month.

I am a firm believer that Education leads to prevention, & prevention is better than cure. That being said if you suspect you have a prolapse, There is SO much you can do & in many,many cases you can get back to doing what you love.

At livfit Mummas I am trained in working with woman with Prolapse (but will recommend you see a Woman’s Health Physio 1st where possible) I will Collaborate with your Woman’s Health Physio who can establish your own individual needs because every body is different.

I can ask all the questions in relation to your Pelvic Floor however Prolapse can be asymptomatic. (you could have one without knowing) You really need a Woman’s Health physio to check internally 🙏🏽💕

Ummmmm did i mention see a woman’s health physio?? 🤣💕

Even though we run a “mums and bubs” class on Mondays, our Mummas can always bring their babies, toddlers, small children or big children to any and every exercise class that’s available 🥰🥰

To the single parent Mumma’s out there, I hope you get a little bit of time today to look after yourself and squeeze in some moments to stop. 🙏🏽💖🥰

Mummas, that 6 week GP check up…….. Ots not enough, not even close!

The typical 6 week check up involves questions around how your healing from any taring/episiotomy, They might look and check, Checking your C-Section scar, They may ask if your Leaking or constipated mayyyyyyyybe, A mental health check and chats about bubs. And that’s a good one!

I must stress this is in no way a green light to get back to regular exercise.

You’ve had a baby, sitting on your Pelvic floor for 9 months, You may or may not have pushed that baby out of your va**na. Depending on many many factors will depend on how your Pelvic Floor has recovered.

Before returning to Regular exercise it’s super important to book in with a Woman’s Health Physio. They will hopefully hopefully (some places don’t have the ultrasound) do an ultrasound and an internal check of your pelvic floor. This will give you the knowledge you need to return to exercise safely and confidently.

As a Mumsafe trainer i advise all my Clients to see a woman’s Health Physio. Until they do I advise them to take the blanket “pelvic floor safe” options in my classes. (these are exercises designed to be safe for a week pelvic floor)

So take this as a sign Mumma, Book in for that Pelvic floor exam. It’s never too late!!
