Is your eBike actually road legal?
Police in several states can now seize (and in some cases destroy) illegal devices.
Road-legal eBikes in Australia generally require:
β’ Maximum 250W continuous motor power
β’ Motor assistance that cuts out at 25 km/h
β’ Pedal-assist only (throttle limited to 6 km/h walk-assist)
Software limits on higher-powered motors do not make them legal.
More details on our blog.

There's a moment on this ride when your shoulders finally drop.
Somewhere between the creek and the climb, the noise in your head goes quiet β replaced by wind, wheels on gravel, the rustle of something moving in the reeds. You catch a glimpse of a platypus and every phone stays in every pocket, because some things you just want to watch.
Then the trees fall away and the Glass House Mountains hit you all at once β that specific kind of awe that makes you go quiet for a second before anyone speaks. Coffee afterwards, under rainforest canopy older than memory, tastes like something you earned.
You came for a bike ride. You leave with your nervous system reset, a few good stories, and a version of Maleny that doesn't show up on a map β the one you only find by slowing down enough to notice it.

π΄ I'm riding the Buderim9 Challenge again this year β and I need your help!
Last year, two mates and I took on all nine hill climbs β 76km, every ascent Buderim has to throw at us β and finished the whole course in three hours. This year I want an even bigger team and an even bigger fundraising result for The Pyjama Foundation, which gives kids in care a "PJ Angel" and the stability of someone showing up for them every week.
Want to join the team and grind up those hills with us? Or would you rather sponsor a rider than become one? Either way, you'd be helping a cause that makes a real difference for Sunshine Coast kids.
π Comment or message me if you're keen to ride, and head to https://www.mycause.com.au/page/403434/stuart-whitney if you'd like to sponsor the team.
Thanks to everyone who rode with us last year β let's make 2026 our biggest one yet. π
