Sunny Coast Crocs Rugby 7s

Congratulations to EIGHT of our Sunny Coast Crocs who have been slected for the Sunshine Coast Stingrays who will compete at the 7s State Championships next weekend. There's no denying these boys know how to play 7s and we wish them and their team mates all the best next weekend. Exciting times ahead.

We had an absolute blast at Tropical 7s in 2024 and highly recommend this carnival to any team looking for a quality 7s experience. Tropical 7s really was AMAZING!

Last month, our Sunny Coast Crocs participated in the Noosa Super 7s carnival with a side featuring some Croc originals, as well as some new faces making their debut for our squad. After a solid day of rugby, the Crocs were crowned CHAMPIONS, adding to our growing list of 7s titles over the past two years, and once again showcasing our exciting brand of rugby 7s. Well done boys!

Now this is Croctastic! Four of our Sunny Coast Crocs have been named in the U16 Qld 7s team to take on NSW this Sunday in the Next Gen 7s series; a huge achievement considering three are still U15s. On top of this, another four Crocs were asked to trial last month and just missed selection, but they’ll be back next year ready to go again. The Crocs 7s program was created not only to provide international and domestic touring opportunities, but to also assist local kids on their rugby 7s pathways. It’s been over six months since our Crocs last hit the field for 7s, and there’s no better competition for a reunion than the Double Trouble Summer 7s. This tournament holds a special place for us, offering a chance to compete against some of the best talent in South East Queensland.

We wrapped up the pool phase with three wins and one loss, setting the stage for a familiar showdown—once again facing the Renegades in the Championship Final. Our boys stepped up, stuck to their structures, and delivered our signature fast, dynamic brand of 7s, securing a 27-12 victory.
Both teams showcased impressive skills for 14-year-olds, a testament to the bright future ahead.

With this win, we’ve claimed back-to-back championships (last year as the Cobras) and added another title to our 2024 Tropical 7s triumph.

We are so proud of these boys and th family support over the weekend was amazing to see.
