53 workable days in five and a half months.
Floods. Fuel shortages. Delays outside anyone’s control.
This year tested the civil and construction industry hard.
But through it all, our crew kept showing up.
From emergency response works and rural subdivisions to council projects, RAAF works and high-end developments…. we adapted, pushed forward, and kept delivering.
What carried us through wasn’t luck.
It was good people.
A strong crew.
A commitment to quality, no matter the conditions.
To our team, clients, suppliers, and everyone who backed us this year, thank you from our little family to yours.
We’re proud of what we built anyway.
Onwards.

Projects like these are always rewarding to be part of.
Over the years we have been involved in a range of coastal rehabilitation and seawall works across Queensland, helping protect vulnerable shoreline areas and waterways while improving long term stability.
Working in sensitive coastal environments requires a careful balance between civil construction, environmental responsibility and long term infrastructure protection.
It is an area of the industry our team genuinely enjoys being involved in and takes a lot of pride in.
Most people think excess dirt from construction sites just gets carted away and wasted.
A large amount of it can actually be recycled and reused when it is processed properly.
Different sites produce completely different types of soil, so it is not as simple as just moving dirt from one place to another. Some material needs more sand, some needs blending and some needs to be screened multiple times depending on what the final product is being used for.
Our crew running the screening plant know exactly how to blend different materials to create quality screened topsoil suitable for landscaping, gardens and future projects. A lot of knowledge goes into getting the right mix and creating a clean, consistent product.
Without this process, thousands of tonnes of reusable material would simply go to waste and end up dumped unnecessarily.
It is one of those behind the scenes parts of civil construction most people never really get to see, but it plays a huge role in reducing waste and making better use of material that would otherwise be discarded.
When we say family run, we mean it literally.
That’s Zemma, my wife and co-Director, and our three girls, Aviana, Jagger and Memphis, who have grown up watching this business being built from the ground up.
Elite has been part of their world since before they could walk, and honestly, that’s exactly why we do things the way we do.
When you call Elite, you can get Zemma or myself and we’re across every project we take on, because that’s the only way we know how to operate.
Our team, our fleet and our projects have grown a lot since 2018, but that part hasn’t changed.
For those new here… Hi, I’m Matt. Founder and Director of Elite Earthmoving and Civil, and this is what a family-run Sunshine Coast business actually looks like behind the scenes.
Something Matt gets asked a lot: “Do you just do the earthmoving, or the whole lot?”
The answer is the whole lot, roads included.
From bulk earthworks and underground infrastructure through to the finished road surface, Elite handles the full scope in-house.
Road construction and reconstruction is a core part of what we do across residential subdivisions, commercial developments, and infrastructure projects throughout the Sunshine Coast and Southeast Queensland.
Having that capability under one roof means no handover delays, no coordination gaps between contractors, and one team that’s accountable for the entire result.
If you’ve got a development or project that needs civil works from the ground up, give us a call. We’d love to talk through what’s involved.

Not all workplaces let you jump in the seat of a machine you’ve never operated before, with the full support of your team behind you.
But that’s exactly what Dig Day looks like at Elite.
Every member of our crew had the chance to get behind the controls of equipment outside their usual scope, and for those who discovered a new passion, we’ll help them get their ticket and develop that skill on the job.
It’s something Matt and Zemma have always believed in: that when you invest in your people, the quality of work your clients receive goes up with it.
A team that understands the full capability of our 70+ asset fleet doesn’t just operate machinery, they solve problems on site in real time.
For our clients, that means fewer delays, smarter decisions in the field, and operators who genuinely care about the outcome.
If you’re a skilled operator looking for a team that will back your growth, we’d love to hear from you.

One team. One standard. No juggle.
When you’re managing projects across the Sunshine Coast and Southeast Queensland, having 50+ skilled staff, operators, truck drivers and mechanics all under one roof isn’t just convenient. It’s the difference between a project that runs smoothly and one that doesn’t.
Full accountability from start to finish. That’s the Elite way.
Got a project in mind? We’d love to chat.

Sold out. And already onto the next one.
Watching K***a Park go from a goal on a whiteboard to completely sold out has been one of the most rewarding milestones in Elite’s journey so far.
This project was years in the making and proof that when you back yourself, trust the process and put the work in, the results speak for themselves.
And we’re not stopping there.
Our next Elite Developments project is already underway, and this one is even bigger…
Commercial and residential, and we genuinely cannot wait to show you what’s coming!
