Training to be more than competent at life as a parent and business owner 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

This client of ours is focussed and committed, especially when they have a coach committed to them.

It can make all the difference.

It’s been awesome to program some of the Movve crew + some newbies and keeping the vibe alive…

Some of the side affects of this program unfortunately include seeing results, strength gains, bullet proof knees and reducing pain in the body 😅 s**t hey, that would suck.

Click on the link in the bio to join our squad online and follow the same program this guy is 🤘🏼🤘🏼

Do you set goals for yourself on things other than the number on the scales? What about what you want to knock off next in the gym?

Why is goal setting so important?

Goal setting is crucial when it comes to strength training because it provides a clear direction and purpose to your workouts. Without a specific goal, it's easy to get stuck in a routine and not see the progress that you desire.

Setting goals for strength training helps to keep you motivated, focused, and accountable. It allows you to track your progress, which is essential to staying motivated and seeing the results of your hard work. By setting specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals, you give yourself a clear target to aim for, and you can measure your progress towards that target.

For example, if your goal is to increase your bench press by 5kgs in 8 weeks, you can break down that goal into smaller, achievable steps. You can create a training plan that includes specific exercises, reps, and sets that will help you achieve that goal. You can track your progress and adjust your plan accordingly if you're not seeing the results you want.

Goal setting also helps to ensure that you're not just going through the motions in your workouts. It forces you to challenge yourself and push beyond your comfort zone to see progress. By regularly setting and achieving goals, you'll continue to challenge yourself.

In conclusion, goal setting is critical to achieving success in strength training. It provides direction, focus, and motivation, and it helps you to track your progress towards your desired outcomes. By setting yourself a clear target to aim for, and you can measure your progress towards that target, it will ultimately lead to greater success and more significant gains in strength and overall fitness.

Why squat full depth?

We encourage everyone in our gym to squat full depth, or at least work towards it. Our 1RM testing is on our full depth squats.

Here are some solid reasons to squat full depth.

Improved mobility and flexibility: Performing a full depth squat helps to increase the range of motion in your hips, knees, and ankles, leading to improved flexibility and mobility. This can help to prevent injury and improve athletic performance.

Increased strength: Squatting to full depth engages all of the muscles in your lower body, including your quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, and calves. This increased demand on these muscle groups leads to increased strength and power.
Improved balance and stability: When you squat to full depth, you are forced to maintain proper form and balance, which helps to improve overall stability and balance.

Better athletic performance: The full depth squat is a functional movement that trains your body to perform movements that are essential for many athletic activities, such as jumping, running, and cutting. By improving the strength, power, and stability of your lower body, you can improve your overall athletic performance.

Enhanced injury prevention (our favourite part) : Squatting to full depth helps to build robust, resilient muscles that are better equipped to withstand the demands of sport and physical activity. This can help to prevent injury and keep you on the field or in the gym or being able to keep parenting…

In summary, the full depth squat is an important exercise that can help to improve flexibility, strength, balance, athletic performance, and injury prevention. Full depth squats help build strong, bullet proof bodies!

Motivation Vs Inspiration...

Motivation is an external force that can energise a person and compel them to take action. It stimulates an emotion or desire and helps to initiate, guide and maintain behaviour that is goal orientated. There is lots of different types of motivation, negative motivation, motivated from fear or force and positive which is motivation from reward or incentives.

Inspiration is the process in which you are mentally stimulated to do or feel something. Inspiration comes from deep within and is usually quite a lengthy things, think creative, artists, musicians etc.

Lots of people use the words interchangeably, but there is some difference. They both have the ability to change lives!

Motivation stimulates emotion and desire, where as inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated.

Motivation comes from external forces
Inspiration is internal and there is no such external forces

Our movver of the month for December was Wendy (swipe to see Wendy’s bright happy face👉🏼👉🏼)

Wendy was hesitant when she first started with us, having a few issues with a knee replacement she had a while ago, but even with all that, her confidence has continued to grow week to week. Trying new things, working on what she needed too, swapping movements out so she can still kill it with the team, getting stronger week by week, it’s been so awesome to watch!

The coaches and the crew are super proud!

Movver of the month for January is Shaye!

Shaye started with us after bub number 2 wanting a space that was judgement free, that was flexible with her kids and was going to help her get strong, improve her cardio health and drop some body fat.

Shaye is a power house and has been working so hard while still balancing fifo wife life and 2 kids! She is also completing her cert 3 and 4 in fitness, and this week alone shaved 10 minutes off her mount cooroora climb time in a month 🤯🤯

Both very deserving Movvers of the month 🙌🏼🙌🏼

“It’s just so hard during school holidays…”

Every year

Every holidays

This is what we hear…

If it was just a given to be fit, healthy, pain free, no one would do anything to prevent it or improve their quality of life.

But sitting all day, barely having any activity through out your day, or bending and moving without having any established strength or mobility can put you in a pickle of an injury really fast

You don’t have to train like an athlete, eat like a body builder or cut any fun out of your life.

We just want to help you be a better version of yourself.

Make things easier, like carrying horse feed, children, groceries, moving furniture by yourself when you randomly decide to re-arrange a room…

Help prevent silly injury’s that make you feel useless because you can’t do anything while you wait for the pain to settle and the inflammation to go down…

You know, stuff like that.

So

Schools back, kids are sorted.

Time to join the gym, or not 🤷🏼‍♀️, it’s up to you 🫵🏻🫵🏻 you get to choose what your life looks like, we just provide the tools, programs, accountability and support.

😍😍😍😍

I train, then she trains. Both brought our game faces today 😂

Movement is key for mental and physical wellbeing - this is just as true for our dogs, as it is for us.

How did your dog move today? Did you walk, run, swim, play?
