Turning up to class is training.

Practising is what happens when you take something you learned and actually spend time trying to make it BETTER.

It’s repeating that kick when nobody is counting the reps. Working your ginga until it feels natural. Going back over the sequence you struggled with last week. Picking one small detail and drilling it until you don’t have to think about it anymore.

Training gives you the information.

Practice turns that information into skill.

You need both.

Two people can attend exactly the same classes for exactly the same number of years and end up at completely different levels.

Often, the difference is what they did with the lesson AFTER the lesson.

CAPOEIRA CHRISTMAS IS COMING!

There's one day on the calendar our little Capoeiristas spend all year working towards — BATIZADO! This year's KADARA KIDS BATIZADO kicks off at 10:30am on Sunday, September 13th.

It's a day of new cordas, big smiles, music, culture and celebrating just how far every child has come. For us, Batizado is about much more than grading — it's about bringing our Capoeira family together and creating memories the kids will carry with them long after the roda finishes.
