He would have turned 40 today. Still inspiring us and thanking him for the lessons, the laughs, the passionate conversations, the intense work ethic, the kindness and selfless service, and so much more. Missing him everyday.

Just in case you are looking for a little cycling inspiration and perhaps stuck inside with all this rain this weekend, check this out! Incredible documentary about a year long bicycle ride across Africa under some of the toughest conditions. This bloke filmed most of this himself and did such an amazing job, you'll think he has a film crew with him.

Just a little update of what we've been up to. We've been busy servicing bikes of course and just finished a big lot of bikes that came through in recent weeks. Keegan has been amazing at keeping things rolling since Ashley's passing. Just hired an amazing bike tech from Melbourne named Shaun who has joined the HGR team and excited to introduce him soon. Using this time to clean and organise the shop. Missing Ashley everyday and it's certainly not the same without him.
We've got a little space in our schedule now, so hit us up if your bike is needing some love.

Dear HGR community,
Thank you all for the beautiful words you've shared over the last few days. It's very comforting to myself, Michelle, Ashley's partner and family and friends to know how much he influenced, inspired and contributed to people in his life.
I can tell you from knowing Ashley intimately that the love and devotion he felt for you all was massive. He was so loyal to his clients, and worked with such integrity to not cut corners on workmanship or service. He poured his energy into his business and always with an intention of providing the highest level of expertise. He loved what he did and loved engaging with many of you in long conversations from anything relating to bikes and as many of you know, way beyond. He was a free thinker and loved understanding the workings of the world. I know many of you are missing him deeply and are wanting to know how you can help.
I am currently working on funeral arrangements and will update this page as details become known. There's also a Go Fund me page that I will link to below that you can contribute to if you feel. There are a lot of details and unresolved matters that Ashley has left behind that I am now working through.
Please know that we feel your support and it means so much. Love to you all, Michelle

Dear friends, It is with incredible grief and sadness that I must let you all know that Ashley was in a tragic accident last night as he was travelling home from work on his motorbike. Unfortunately, he passed away at the scene. The family will need a little time to deal with the weight of his loss and I know so many of you will be experiencing so much grief as well. We will reach out in the coming days with more information as it becomes available. Thank you for your patience with us. It may take us some time to respond to all of your messages and comments, but please know we will read them all. Rest in peace, my beloved Ash.
With love, his partner, Michelle

I must say the relief you get when you test fit all the parts you've made to work together and everything works.
To make something that previously didn't exist and to make a system work where it otherwise would have been incompatible is very satisfying.
This one has been a drawn out process, admittedly some of that time was spent waiting for materials and finding the time to get back to spending the hours designing and machining components.
We will be producing a video showing all of the ins and outs, the thinking and processes behind this all coming to frooition.
But in the meantime I thought I would share some images of the offset disc brake adaptor/torque arm receiver, fitted and interlocked with the torque arm mounted to the hub.
