AIRTIME x VRU

On Tuesday, the Violence Reduction Unit in partnership with Blue Light Victoria announced investment investment in 17 new violence prevention programs, including the Airtime Cobblebank Basketball Program.

The announcement will allow us to provide an even greater level of support for young people to engage in opportunities across sport, academics and job pathways, including collaboration with the Les Twentyman Foundation to elevate our impact off the court.

This is only just the start.

This weekend we said goodbye to Pan Li Wei (aka Wayne), who trained with Airtime over the past month all the way from Shu-Te University in Taiwan.

Despite the language barrier, Wayne was a favourite amongst the training group during his time in Melbourne due to his energy and consistent work ethic.

Wayne's time with the group was a reminder that basketball is a universal language - one that breaks down barriers and brings different cultures together.

Safe travels back to Taiwan, Wayne. You'll always have a place with Airtime! 🇹🇼

Shoutout to all the boys that are accessing a fully funded pathway to receiving their CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations, opening doors to real employment opportunities.

Proud to see our young people stepping into spaces that build confidence, skills, and long-term pathways beyond the court.
