Proud to announce that
UTS Fencing Club President, Melissa Yeung, has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM)—for service to the sport of fencing.
Melissa has been at the heart of our club for over two decades, shaping not just its athletes, but the community that surrounds it. Her leadership, coaching, and international fencing achievements, helped build UTS Fencing Club into the inclusive and welcoming space it is today; a place of belonging for many.
We are immensely grateful that Melissa has been awarded one the nation's highest honours, recognising her lasting impact on fencing in Australia.

2025 Membership / Visitor fee applies to all fencers training at UTS Fencing and covers the period of January 2025 – December 2025. In joining UTS Fencing Club as a member or a visitor, you agree to respect and adhere to the values and principles of ActivateUTS and the University of Technology Sydney. Members and visitors must also abide by the club's Code of Behaviour** during any activity held or sanctioned by UTS Fencing Club.
*2025 UTS Public Member: $350
* #2025 UTS Student Member: $60 (current UTS student )
*2025 UTS Staff / Alumni Member: $99 (current UTS staff / UTS Alumni)
*2025 UTS Veteran (Public) Member: $265(aged 50 or over as of 1st January 2025)

Vale Henry de Silva
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Henry de Silva, a British veteran fencer who was a founder of veteran fencing in Britain and Europe. He has been competing on the international veteran circuit for decades, as well a working as a coach, and is the author of a book on fencing.
He began fencing at the age of fifteen, and last year reached his 90th birthday.
Henry de Silva, we salute you.
