WHAT A NIGHT OF FINALS NETBALL! 🔥🏐

You couldn’t have asked for two better finals if you tried on Tuesday night. Two absolute nail-biters, both going right down to the wire – exactly what finals are all about!

The first game saw the 3rd placed SRAS Students take on 4th placed Costa Bros in the Elimination Final. There was nothing between the two sides all night and it came down to the final seconds, with the Students holding on for a 22–21 victory and keeping their season alive.

Then came a Qualifying Final that was probably the best game we’ve seen since the Mixed Netball competition began!

The SRAS Staff and Zads’ Team traded the lead throughout the night and when the final whistle blew, they couldn’t be separated at 35–35.

Extra time followed… and then some more extra time… and then some more!

It took THREE periods of extra time before we finally had a winner, with the undefeated SRAS Staff somehow finding a way to scrape home by a single goal, 45–44, against a brilliant Zads’ Team.

That sets us up for a massive final night on Tuesday 22nd September:

🏐 5:30pm – Junior Mixed Netball

🔥 6:00pm – PRELIMINARY FINAL
SRAS Students 🆚 Zads’ Team

🏆 7:00pm – GRAND FINAL
SRAS Staff 🆚 Winner of the Preliminary Final

Whoever wins the Prelim will have to back it up and go again against the Staff for the premiership – it should be an absolute ripper of a way to finish our 2026 season!

We’ve also had really positive feedback about keeping these fortnightly community sporting nights going over summer. At this stage, we’re looking at basketball for the kids and Mixed Volleyball for secondary students and adults across Term 4 and Term 1.

Mixed Netball Finals – Tomorrow Night! 🏐

Last fortnight saw Zads’ Team defeat the SRAS Students 33–20, while the SRAS Staff finished the minor round undefeated following a 43–28 win over Costa Bros.

The final ladder is below, which sets up our first night of finals action. Following some feedback from teams, we’re going to trial a slightly different finals format this year.

🔥 6:00pm – Elimination Final
SRAS Students (3rd) vs Costa Bros (4th)
The winner stays alive, while unfortunately it’s season over for the loser.

🏆 7:00pm – Qualifying Final
SRAS Staff (1st) vs Zads’ Team (2nd)
The winner books their place straight into the Grand Final, while the loser gets another chance next fortnight.

Next fortnight, the winner of the Elimination Final will take on the loser of the Qualifying Final in a Preliminary Final. The winner of that game will then have to back it up against tomorrow night’s Qualifying Final winner in the Grand Final later that night!

Before all of that, our kids are back as usual:

We’d love to see plenty of people come down and support the teams as we get to the pointy end of what has been another really enjoyable Mixed Netball season.

We’ll also be having a chat with people tomorrow night about keeping our fortnightly sporting nights going over summer. We’re looking at basketball for the kids and a Mixed Volleyball competition for the adults during Term 4 and Term 1. If you’d be keen, let us know – the more interest we get, the more likely we can get it up and running!

Our fortnightly Swan Reach Mixed Netball nights have been a huge success so far this year, and Tuesday night was another great example of what these nights are all about!

It’s been fantastic seeing new families and community members coming along, getting involved and connecting through a fun and social night out.

🌟 Net Set Go and Junior Mixed were full of action again, giving our younger players the chance to learn some new skills, have a run around and enjoy a proper game of netball.

The senior games certainly didn't disappoint either!

🔥 1st vs 2nd – SRAS Staff vs Zads' Team

Zads' Team challenged the undefeated Staff throughout the game and threatened to take the lead on a number of occasions. The Staff eventually showed their class and pulled away to record a 43–29 win and keep their unbeaten season alive.

🔥 3rd vs 4th – SRAS Students vs Costa Bros

This one was an absolute cracker! The lead changed hands at every quarter-time break, with neither side willing to give an inch. In the end, the SRAS Students found a way to claw out a hard-fought 26–23 victory over an ultra-competitive Costa Bros outfit.

NEXT UP – Tuesday 25th August

This will be the final minor round before finals begin for our Senior Mixed competition, with just three nights of netball remaining before we wrap up the season in Week 10 of the school term.

We're also starting to think about what comes next! There has been plenty of interest in keeping a fortnightly social sporting night going through Term 4 and Term 1, potentially with something like Mixed Basketball or Mixed Volleyball. 🏀🏐

If that sounds like something you'd be keen to be part of, reach out or come along to one of our remaining netball nights. We'd love to keep building these nights into an even bigger community event with more families and community members involved.

Tuesday night delivered another fantastic evening of netball, with plenty of fun for our Net Set Go, Junior Mixed and Senior Mixed players.

In the senior competition, Zads' Team put on a masterclass against Costa Bros, taking the win 40–16. While the scoreboard favoured Zads' Team, there were still plenty of highlights from both sides.

The second match saw the always entertaining clash between the SRAS Staff and SRAS Students. The students refused to let the staff get away at any stage, keeping the pressure on for four quarters before the staff held on for a 32–29 victory.

Now we turn our attention to Tuesday 11th August, where the race for finals really starts to heat up.

Mixed Netball is Back This Tuesday! 🏐

After a fantastic first round, we're excited to be back for Round 2, kicking off this Tuesday 28th July!

Round 1 was a huge success, with plenty of action across our Net Set Go, Junior Mixed and Senior Mixed competitions. It's been awesome to see so many players and families getting involved and making Tuesday nights such a great community event.

Check out the Round 1 ladder and see where your team sits heading into the second half of the season!

Looking at the ladder, you'd never have guessed that one of the games of the round was top versus bottom, with the Costa Bros pushing the undefeated SRAS Staff Team all the way before narrowly going down 26–23. It was a terrific contest and proof that every team is capable of causing an upset.

Meanwhile, Zads' Team cemented second spot on the ladder with a convincing 24–11 victory over the SRAS Students.

With just three games remaining before finals, every game becomes even more important!

🏐 Mixed Netball is Back Tonight! 🏐

We're back for the final night of Round 1 before we take a break over the school holidays!

Last fortnight was another fantastic night, with:
👏 SRAS Students defeating Costa Bros 18–7.
👏 SRAS Staff remaining unbeaten after a hard-fought 34–23 win over Zads' Team.

Another great night of Mixed Netball is coming up this Tuesday!

Last week's opening night was a huge success, with plenty of action across all age groups.

🌟 Our Net Set Go session saw 12 youngsters enjoying a range of fun netball activities and games, while our new Junior Mixed Netball competition got off to a fantastic start with 14 players taking part in a full match. It was awesome to see so many families and supporters cheering them on from the sidelines.

🏆 In the senior competition, the SRAS Staff Team proved too strong for the SRAS Students, running out 36-18 winners, while Zads' Team took out an entertaining contest against the Costa Bros, winning 21-14.

Now it's time for Game 2!

MIXED NETBALL IS BACK TOMORROW NIGHT! 🔥🏐

The Round 1 draw has landed, and we're excited to kick off another season of Mixed Netball tomorrow night! Check out the fixture and see when your team is in action.

There's something for everyone this year:

🌟 5:00pm – Net Set Go (under 8)
Perfect for our younger players and anyone new to netball.

🏐 5:30pm – Junior Mixed Netball (8-12)
Our brand-new competition. A great opportunity to develop skills, have fun and enjoy a game with friends.

🏆 6:00pm & 7:00pm – Senior Mixed Netball (13+)
Friendly rivalry, great competition and plenty of laughs guaranteed!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Bring the whole family!

These nights are all about community, fun and getting people involved. Even if you're not keen to play, come along, grab a feed, catch up with friends and support the teams.

Didn't get your name down for a team? No worries! Come along anyway. There will be opportunities to jump into a team each fortnight, so everyone can get involved.

The competition is only a fortnightly commitment, with our Grand Final scheduled for Week 10 of Term 3, making it easy to fit around sport, work and family commitments.
