Last Sunday our Belswans U12 girls held off a strong Dudley Redhead team to claim their first Grand Final win at West Wallsend.

Going 1-0 early thanks to a beautiful solo effort from Amali Wilson, the Belswans defence held solid, shutting down the opposition time and again for the half time lead.

Dudley kept pressing in the 2nd half and earned an equaliser after a lovely diving save pushed wide by keeper Zoe Douglas was capitalised on by a nice follow up tap in by the opposition.

Player of the match Candice Harvey put the team back in front almost immediately when some nice passing play between the forwards allowed her a strong left foot strike past the keeper to regain the lead.

The final 20mins was a tense affair, with Dudley putting pressure on the Belswans defence the entire time, but never really earning a real shot at goals as the team rallied to defuse each chance.

Well done Belswans for an 8 game winning streak, conceding only 2 goals in that period, leading to a maiden GF win.💚💛⚽️

The U12 girls march into the grand final on the back of a dominant 3-1 win over the seasons minor premiers, Edgeworth.

Falling behind early, Belswans equalled on the stroke of half time thanks to a beautiful strike by Scarlett Uphill past a diving keeper from the edge of the goalie box. Pearl "Bob" Browne made it 2-0 about 20mins into the 2nd half after a lively breakaway run before Uphill made it a brace in injury time to seal the win.

The ladies celebrated again with Maccas and now get ready to face Dudley Redhead in the decider.

Belswans U12 ladies beat a tough Lochinvar team 2-0 to reach the next round in the semi finals.

Led by a rock solid defenses and highlighted by two amazing goals from Izzy Twist, one over the keepers head from well outside the box, the team will face minor premiers Edgeworth next week to push for their first ever championship trophy.

Belswans AA played well to defeat Toronto Awaba 4 - 1 in Saturdays elimination semi at Gateshead.
Captain Harley Hicks had a blinder and inspired the boys throughout the game.
Brendan Lee scored a brace, one from a lovely free kick, Aaron Stedman pleased the crowd with a lovely finish across the keeper into the side netting and Ben Battley scored a bomb from outside the 18 going into contention for goal of the year.
Unlucky to not score more but some beautiful saves from Toronto Awaba's keeper kept us at 4.
Onto next week where we face Scone for a chance to get to another GF💚💛
