Well done to everyone who took part and completed the recent grading.

Good to see the technical level of everyone improving, combined with recent competition results and the Academy randori league!! 🥋💪

Great effort from our Lions Judo players Joe and Chris who attended the Interclub Seminar and Competition organised by UTS Judo Club and Judo Matsu

The idea of the event is to bring clubs across Sydney together to train with different people, learn and gain valuable competition experience.

Chris had two fights, getting countered in his first fight but winning his second with a beautiful Uchi Mata throw.

Joe also had two fights winning both with a beautiful Ouchi Gari throw.

There are no medals for the competition as the focus of the event is on learning.

Also well done to the Judo for BJJ players I coach from Clube De Lutas ™ who took part in the training and competition as well!!

Chadil found out very quickly in his first ever competition fight that there is a big difference between training and competition and then went on to win his next two contests!!

Congratulations to Hunter, who is the Judoka of the Month from our Koala Judo class (3-4years old) 🥳

Hunter has been working hard to remember the names of the Judo techniques we have done in class and has been developing his confidence with some of the judo games and the plyometric exercises!

When I asked Hunter why he likes learning Judo, he said “because coach David makes me happy and it is fun”!

Great to see some of Academy players visiting the Kodokan in Osaka and Tokyo to do some extra training whilst away on their holiday!!
