Title #9 for Jack McGinniskin at the NSW Team Race Walking Championships

On a beautiful morning at the Armory in Newington in Sydney, Mingara’s Jack McGinniskin continued his dominance of the NSW Winter race walking championships, while in the women’s it was an all-World Juniors podium led home by Chelsea Roberts. They were competing in the second NSW Athletics winter race walking championship of the year – the Team Walks.

NSW Athletics is saddened to hear of the passing of Neil Hinton, a significant contributor to athletics in NSW for over three decades.
From the Central Coast of NSW, Neil was involved in our sport at every level – as an athlete, coach, club and State administrator and technical official. His contributions in these areas was immense, ranging from being an International Technical Official, to Athletics NSW Board Member and for nearly three decades as a club administrator.

NSW Athletics Annual Awards: Administrators of the Year

On Saturday evening at the annual awards dinner, Mosman’s Camilla Lister and Sydney University’s Andrew Heil shared the award as administrator of the year. Club administrators are the leading unsung heroes of our sport. They beaver away at night completing work that is so often unseen. We can’t thank them enough for their contribution to the sport, largely at the very grass roots of the sport.

Athletics, officials, administrators and coaches recognised at the NSW Athletics Annual Awards Dinner

Last evening at the Novotel at Sydney Olympic Park, NSW’s athletes, coaches, officials and administrators were recognised at the annual awards dinner.

What was evident was nearly every finalist in the athlete event categories had reached the level of world championship representation – indicating an incredible high standard and depth of NSW athletics.
