World Masters Championships: 45 medal haul for NSW

A massive two weeks for NSW masters athletes in Korea winning 17 gold, 14 silver and 14 bronze medals.

Winning multiple individual world titles, the stars for NSW were three women - Julie Forster, Rebekah Power and Sally Stagles, while the leading NSW male was Ron Schwebel with five medals.

NSW athletes who were crowned world champion in Deagu: Julie Forster, Rebekah Power, Sally Stagles, Peter Byrne, Mark Conyers, Janelle Delaney, Nicki Drinkwater, Julie Forster, Gurpreet Kaur, Lenorë Lambert, Ernest Leseberg, Gavin Murray, Rebekah Power, Sukie Southern, Sally Stagles, Philippa Wight and Sukie Southern.

Mark you calendars the Country Championships are headed to Wollongong in 2027!

Today, we witnessed 350 students from The Run Beyond Project and NSW Athletics conquer the TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS Mini Marathon and discover the power of running. From showing up together, cheering each other on, and proving to themselves that they can.
 
We’re so proud of every single We Runner who laced up today. You ran strong, you ran together, and you made every kilometre count.

TCS Mini Marathon 5km

Ahead of the TCS Sydney Marathon on Sunday, 18 NSW athletes will compete in the TCS Mini Marathon 5km this Saturday morning. The athletes form part of the inaugural NSW Athletics squad.

Australian Cross-Country: Juniors and teams success

NSW depth was on show at the Australian Cross Country Championships in Ballarat, where our NSW teams placed on the podium in all but one of the 21 events. Seven athletes were also crowned individual Australian Champions.

Australian Junior Race Walks: Zoe Woods defends Australian title

ZOE WOODS on competing two weeks after the World U20 Championships:

“Obviously once you compete at a World Championship, you do crave a bit of a break, I'll be honest, however, I love this event, and I was aware that this is my last Nationals as an under-20. It's not something I wanted to pass up, and I knew I was in good form, so I was like, you know, why not? I love this sport, I love what I do, so, it's great to see all my mates and I'm really glad I came.”
