Infrastructure for Multicultural Communities Grant
Batch 1 - Closing at 4pm Today - 18 May 2026
I'm writing to let you know that the Australian Government's Infrastructure for Multicultural Communities grants are still open for another 10 days. This may or may not be of interest for your organisation.
Parramatta is one of the most culturally diverse electorates in Australia, and I know many of our local organisations have been planning upgrades for a long time. This is a real opportunity to get federal backing for those projects.
There is funding available nationally to help multicultural community organisations construct, upgrade or extend the spaces your community relies on — from community halls and kitchens to security systems and performing arts stages. Grants of between $20,000 and $1.5 million are available depending on the size and scope of your project.
BATCH 1 CLOSES AT 4PM ON MONDAY 18 MAY 2026
Projects will need to be shovel-ready, meaning you should have project plans, a budget with quotes, and evidence of co-funding in place or well underway. If you're not quite there yet, that's OK — a second batch will be opening later this year, giving you more time to get your project ready.
Priority is given to new and emerging communities, and to projects focused on outcomes for multicultural women, LGBTQIA+ community members, and people with disability. Priority groups benefit from a co-contribution requirement as low as 2% of total project cost.
I know these grants will be highly competitive, so I encourage you to put forward the strongest application you can. Please note that final decisions on successful applicants will not be determined by my office.
More information and the full guidelines are available on my website: https://andrewcharlton.com.au/grants/infrastructure-for-multicultural-communities-grants/
If you are interested in receiving information from my office about future grants, please sign up to my grants bulletin here: https://andrewcharlton.com.au/grants/grants-bulletin/
If you need help or want to talk through your project idea, please call my office on 02 9689 1455 or email [email protected] — I’m here to help.
Warm regards,
Dr Andrew Charlton MP
Federal Member for Parramatta
Cabinet Secretary
Assistant Minister for Science, Technology & Digital Economy
