Iaido is the Japanese art of drawing the sword. We train in the Zen Ken Ren Seitei Iaido stye and af The club is currently run by Ruth-sensei's senior students.

The Suigetsu Iaido Club was founded in February 2003 by the late Ruth Franklin Sensei (5th Dan). Originally based in the Macquarie University Gym, the club now trains in the North Shore suburb of West Pymble. All students are members of the NSW Kendo Association for the purposes of accreditation and insurance. Visitors are always welcome.

The Australian Kendo Renmei (AKR) Iaido Board have advised that the 2023 Australian Iaido Seminar and Championships will be held in Perth in September 23-25 September at the Southern River College in Gosnells WA.
