Dear friends!

December is finally here!

We are delighted to give you a heads up on our plans for the Christmas and New Year holidays.

We are in the process of finalising details for our new ‘Kayak and Dine’ sessions at the Regatta Centre. Full details soon but you can expect a leisurely kayak session around the lakes followed by catered dining around the venue. We are really excited about this unique experience.

Stay tuned for official announcements, as always we advise our FB friends first before advertising to the public. Our Christmas sessions sold out fast last year, so watch this space.

We will be providing general kayak hire as well during December and January.

We are keeping a very close eye on the weather - as usual… - as rain is the natural enemy of any recreational kayaker looking for a peaceful summer paddle. It looks like we have another wet week ahead of us. Once that clears and we get into the forecast finer weather - watch out!

What an amazing day on the lakes at the Regatta Centre!

Could not have asked for better weather or better company!

Our wonderful guests had almost the entire lakes to themselves today - again.

Thank you again to our frequent flyers, our repeat customers, and wow was it great to meet our new friends today and hear your stories.

There is just something magic about being on the water, using nothing more than your boat and your hands to move where you want, explore where you want. You are responding to the breeze, to the ripples and the whole system on the lake without even realising you are doing it.

That experience, that being part of nature, well if that doesn’t reset your thinking from all of the craziness that we all put up with, then not much will!

As soon as we hear more about the availability schedule for the Centre through the next couple of months, we will let you know.

The Serene Kayaks truck (Serene One…) is packed and ready to go!

We are back out at the Regatta Centre from 10am tomorrow, Monday the 2nd, for ‘Yak to the Future’ family kayak hire.

The weather looks absolutely amazing, considering the heat we are all experiencing today. High 20s, low wind, magic.

Just a reminder that the Regatta Centre gets very busy with races and events from now until mid December, this will probably be our last event until then.

We are planning something really exciting for younger kids and parents leading up to Christmas. Stay tuned!

Lets go ‘Yak to the future’…..

Just a quick post that we are finalising details for kayak hire this coming public holiday Monday (2nd October) at the Regatta Centre.

Going to be looking at two sessions, about 2.5hrs each, one in the morning, one in the afternoon.

Going to call this event ‘Yak to the future’.

Why? Because we like the sound of it… thats why.

Thanks for an 'oarsome' day dads!

(Well, we had to get one dad joke in there...)

Thank you to all the wonderful families at the 'Yak with Dad' event held yesterday at the Sydney International Regatta Centre, it was great to see so many fathers spending some unique outdoor quality time with their kids and partners. We could not have asked for a better day weather wise, it was perfect.

See below for photos of just some of our medal winning VIP dads. Each VIP dad got a commemorative medal to remember the day. Some of the medal presentations from kids to their dads were done with more formality than the Olympic Games...

We did have one boat launch that was more memorable than ever intended. First time for everything, we are following that up and do thank that family for their graciousness.

We set a record with the youngest participant - and hands down the cutest - see below.

It was special to see all the families enjoy their time in the gazebos by the lake. We hope to make those a regular feature at events.

A special shout out to our returning guests, it was great to see you again - thank you, we are humbled.

And a very special shout out to Kate and Trevor who did their third visit - really wonderful to see you folks.

We are already planning our next event at the Regatta Centre. Details will be announced here first.

Its still a while off but our previous Christmas and Summer Holiday events almost all sold out so keep an eye out. Who knows we may even get a visit from a certain jolly fellow with a white beard...

'Yak with Dad' update

Dear friends,

We are so thrilled to be welcoming back some familiar faces to the Regatta Centre this Sunday for the Father's Day event, and so excited to meet new ones.

We have spent the last several weeks eyeing the weather nervously, at one stage it was forecast for heavy rain this coming weekend, thank goodness it now looks clear and sunny. Just a reminder - the event does proceed in the rain, but we should be fine anyway.

As always to find us come all the way down Old Castlereagh Road to Gate A for the Regatta Centre. Follow the road around to the left to the main island. Park in the large carpark and look for the gazebos. There is a shore fishing event as well that day plus other folks training etc, but we should be easy to see.

Just some more info regarding the VIP packages.

The outdoor settings are standard size new outdoor sofas and chairs, the table is functional size but please don't get the idea that it will hold a full luncheon banquet. We will strive to work with your ideas for dad if you do wish to bring food, just message or email and we can help.

The gazebos are designed as a chill out space for your family to rest, rehydrate, get some great family photos and relax.

We do have multiple sessions running that day so we will be working the VIP gazebos to a schedule, but a fairly relaxed one...

There is PLENTY of space and facilities along the hundreds of metres of shoreline where we are based once you have finished your session to relax by the lake.

And just a reminder the VIP dads will be getting a real metal medal to commemorate their day at the Regatta Centre. There is a huge podium in front of the main grandstand that will make for great photos with your family.

We can present your family with the medal to give to dad on your return from your 'yak' or let us know if you have an idea to give it to him elsewhere!

SEASON 2023/2024 - STARTS FRIDAY!!!

Dear friends,

We are SO excited to be finally at the start of the new season.

On Friday the 4th we are visiting the Sydney International Boat Show in Darling Harbour. This is an amazing experience for anyone interested in boats and maritime, we will be updating during the day with photos and videos.

We are also really excited to provide a heads up about our upcoming 'Yak with Dad' event this Father's Day at the Regatta Centre at Penrith. This will be our first event of the season, we just confirmed some final details with the Regatta Centre today. This event is aimed at families and fathers especially. We will be premiering new 'VIP packages' for these events, which we are really excited about.

We will advertise ADVANCE NOTICE DETAILS on Facebook before offering tickets to the general public, so stay tuned.

We will be hosting general kayak hire through Spring and early Summer when the venue is available. What we are really looking forward to is December and January when the regattas finish up and our incredible guests often have the lakes to themselves.

There is also some exciting news on the venue itself that we are waiting to confirm.
