New beginnings...let's do this!
97.5kg
Missed it by a 🐝🍆
But I'm not mad. There are lots of positives I can take away from this lift, and I will get it next time (plus a little more hopefully).
Early morning running practice, really focusing on our technique - landing on the midfoot, not overstriding, and improving knee and arm drive.
Still lots of work to do, but we have made a lot of progress in just a few weeks.

My barefoot shoe collection is growing!
One thing I am really passionate about is foot health. Feet are complex - they are our primary sensor for the environment and foundation for the body, yet we often neglect and abuse them.
But having health feet is simple. And a good place to start is by looking at the shoes you put on your feet.
Here are 4 things to keep in mind next time you are buying shoes:
1️⃣ Wide - is the shoe wide enough at the top to fit your foot with out squishing it?
2️⃣ Thin - the sole should be thin enough that your feet can feel the ground, and can still perform their function as sensors.
3️⃣ Flat - shoes should be zero-drop, meaning there is no difference in sole thickness from heel to toe.
4️⃣ Flexible - can you scrunch your shoe up and bend it? If you can, then you foot has the freedom to move and bend and flex.
💥💥Wide and flat are non-negotiable, as these have the biggest impact on your foot!💥💥
I will admit that finding functional AND fashionable shoes can be quite difficult, but options are improving. So if you are interested and looking for somewhere to start, this is a list of shoes pictured:
Clockwise from top:
• Ryder
• Circadian sandals
• Grace sandals
• Prime
• V-Train V2
• Primus Lite II
• Primal 2
• Boulder Boot
• Vienna

RESOLUTIONS VS GOALS
Welcome to 2021!
Did you make any new year's resolutions?
How many of them have you already broken?
Come January 1st many of us make a promise to ourselves that we intend to change and improve some aspect of our life. More often than not the changes we intend to make are extreme, creating an intimidating gap between where we are, and where we want to be. We go in with high expectations and an "all-or-nothing" approach, then feel discouraged when it falls flat within a few weeks, and our good intentions get left behind.
The problem with resolutions is that they are just a statement of intention - a firm decision to do, or not to do something - but with no real plan on how to get to where we want to be. Resolutions are rigid - we either achieve them or you don't, there is no inbetween.
Goals, on the other hand, are the object of a persons ambition or effort, an aim or desired result; they are a statement of commitment. Goals involve not only setting intentions, but also planning, preparing, and taking realistic action. Unlike resolutions, they are malleable and can change with our circumstances and priorities.
Now I am not saying making resolutions is a bad thing. Resolutions are useful in providing a long-term picture of where we want to be. However, goals are the specific steps we need to take to get there. Without goals, resolutions often go unmet.
As cliche as it sounds, it really is about the journey, not the destination. If you only set a resolution, everyday will be a battle to keep that resolution. If you set a goal, everyday will be a journey towards that goal.

Rise and shine 🌞 for ...
Early morning farmer carries in the beautiful Sunday morning sun.
Farmer carries are an often overlooked exercise, yet they are one of the simplest, and deliver great bang for your buck.
Want to improve grip strength? Want to gain muscle and get stronger? Want to get your heart rate up really quickly? The answer is farmer carries!
You will not only feel these in your forearms and grip but also your neck, shoulders, back, abs and even glutes and quads!
The key is going HEAVY.
You can perform farmer carries with dedicated farmer's bars (I use the micro farmer carry handles from ), or heavy dumbbells or kettlebells. But if you don't have any equipment you could simply use water jugs or buckets of sand...it doesn't really matter, as long as it's heavy, safe, and poses a challenge.
