Thinking about buying a Pilates reformer for home? Here are a few things to consider before choosing one 👇

1. Measure your space
Most reformers are around 240cm long, so make sure you have enough room to move comfortably. If space is limited, a foldable reformer can be a great option.

2. Set your budget
Prices vary depending on the style, materials and features, so think about what matters most for how you’ll use it.

3. Look for adjustability
Adjustable headrests, footbars, ropes and resistance settings can help you tailor your workouts to your body and fitness level.

4. Check quality and durability
A sturdy frame, smooth carriage and quality materials can make a big difference to comfort and performance.

5. Choose a trusted brand
Consider the warranty, customer support and reputation of the supplier, not just the reformer itself.

6. Think about setup
An easy-to-assemble reformer means less time setting up and more time moving.

Once it’s set up, create a comfortable space, build a routine, focus on form and keep your workouts varied.

Every. Single. Time. ✨

Hey Pilates fam 🤍

One of the things we love about Pilates is that it teaches you to move with intention, rather than simply rushing through an exercise.

Slowing a movement down gives you time to focus on your alignment, breathing and control, while encouraging the smaller stabilising muscles to do their share of the work. It can also make a movement feel completely different. Sometimes reducing the range slightly and adding more control can be far more challenging than moving quickly through a bigger range.

Next time you’re on the reformer, try focusing less on how many repetitions you can do and more on the quality of each one. Think smooth carriage movement, steady breathing and staying connected through the entire exercise.

Pilates is all about those little details, and over time they can make a big difference to the way you move, feel and progress ✨

Hey Pilates fam 🤍

Let’s talk about stability.

One of the best things about adding a Pilates ball to your workout is the extra stability challenge it creates.

Because the ball is soft and slightly unstable, your body has to work a little harder to stay controlled and supported throughout each movement. This can encourage your deeper core and stabilising muscles to switch on, even during exercises you’re already familiar with.

And the best part? You don’t necessarily need to make the movement bigger or faster to make it more challenging.

Sometimes, adding a little instability is all it takes to completely change how an exercise feels 🔥

Hey Pilates fam 🤍

Let’s talk about time under tension.

In Pilates, moving slower doesn’t necessarily make an exercise easier. In fact, slowing things down can make your muscles work even harder.

Controlled movements keep your muscles working for longer, while giving you time to focus on your alignment, stability and technique throughout every part of the exercise.

It’s one of the reasons Pilates can feel so challenging without relying on heavy weights or fast movements.

Sometimes slowing it down is exactly what turns up the intensity ✨
