SSSA COMP - ROUND 12

We have reached the halfway mark of the season and there have been plenty of victories, thrillers and big breaks!

Tradies 1 v Kingsgrove 1 (H)
Tradies 1 went down 5-3 to Kingsgrove 1. Despite the loss, Alex R and Marko had fantastic breaks of 57 and 39, respectively.

Alex's 57-break means he claims the biggest break of the season thus far, narrowly edging out David H's 53-break made last round!

Tradies 2 v Condell Park 2 (A)
It was smiles all around for Tradies 2 with a 5-3 win over Condell Park 2. Congratulations to Lucas D for winning both his frames which saw the team clinch the victory.

This round sees Tradies 1 move down to 2nd place behind Bexley RSL 2. whilst Tradies 2 move up to 12th and will be looking for a strong surge in the remaining half of the season to make the top 8.

Best of luck to Peter Q and Roger Farebrother in their respective Last 16 matches today in the Ian Chappell Classic 👏

SSSA COMP - ROUND 10

It was commiserations for Tradies 1 & 2 as both teams were defeated 6-2 against Condell Park 1 and Bexley RSL 2, respectively.

Congratulations to Dave H for a fantastic 53-break; the highest break from any Tradies player this season!

Despite the disappointing results, Tradies 1 remain at the top of the table and Tradies 2 at 17th place.

Tradies 2 v Revesby Workers 3 (A)

Congratulations to Roger from everyone at Gymea Tradies Snooker Club for his fantastic effort at the World Seniors Snooker Championship highlighted by a superb 4–2 victory against former World No.10 Tony Drago to advance to the Round of 16.

Although Roger's run has come to an end against Ali Carter, this is undoubtedly a highlight career and a proud moment for Australian Snooker.

We hope Roger enjoys the rest of his time abroad, and we look forward to welcoming him home safely.

FAREBROTHER OFF THE MARK 🇦🇺

Roger Farebrother continues to impress on his Crucible debut as a break of 80 reduces his deficit against Ali Carter to 2-1! 👏

The Australian debutant defeated Tony Drago on the opening day.

TRADIES ON TOUR!

Our Secretary, Riley James, had the opportunity to attend the Crucible Theatre for the World Championships where he watched Shaun Murphy (eventual finalist!) v Xiao Guodong and Mark Williams v Barry Hawkins.

Apart from visiting the 'Home of Snooker', Riley says the highlight from his visit was watching Shaun Murphy make 3 centuries against Guodong.

Tradies 1 v Condell Park 2 (H)
Tradies 1 are keeping the good times rolling as they rallied home a 5-3 victory against Condell Park. Congratulations to David H for his 34-break.

Tradies 2 v Kingsgrove 1 (A)
After some mixed results, Tradies 2 were looking to pick up their form and delivered with a 5-3 victory! Congratulations to Nathan P and Dave F for winning both of their 2 frames.

The victories mean Tradies 1 have extended their healthy lead at the top of the table, whilst Trades 2 will need to continue a good run of form to lift themselves up out of the bottom half.

SSSA COMP - ROUND 8 | 💃THE BIG DANCE 💃

Our boys came head-to-head in a clash that would either see Tradies 1 maintain their healthy position on the ladder or Tradies 2 gain some much needed points to keep up with the top half of the table....

The night did not disappoint with Tradies 1 coming out as 6-2 victors which puts them top spot on the ladder!

The match highlights were Nathan P's 40-break clearance to seal the frame, and Alex R's breaks of 30 and 36.

The Club would also like to thank Peter Q for arranging catering for the night.

SSSA COMP - ROUND 7

Tradies 1 v Engadine 1 (A)
It was a top of the table clash with both teams sat on 39 points and it did not disappoint. Peter Q and Brian B won both their frames to rally a 4-4 draw.

Tradies 2 v Ramsgate RSL 2 (H)
Unfortunately the team suffered a 7-1 defeat.

Despite the mixed results, Tradies 1 sit second-place on the table, but level with Engadine 1 on 44 points. Tradies 2 are on 35 points and will be looking to continue the chase going into next week's match against ... Tradies 1!

We’re proud to have been represented by our players David Wright, Alan Duffin and Peter Q at the 2026 NSW State Minor Championships at Mounties earlier this month.

Although Peter and Alan were knocked out in the first round, David delivered an outstanding performance, going all the way to the final! A fantastic effort by all 👏

Let's continue to cheer on our boys as they get ready to compete in the Australian Masters at Mingara on 30 April.

Bon voyage and safe travels to our Secretary, Riley James, as he heads to the UK.

Riley's trip will include a visit to Sheffield to watch the World Championships at the Crucible!
