AUFFI is thrilled to announce that the final tournament of the 2024/2025 Summer season, the 2025 Raine & Horne Fiji FACT, is set for Friday, February 21st – Sunday, February 23rd, 2025!

This action-packed event will feature All Age Premier, Super Premier, Over 40’s & 50’s, Under 14s, and Under 16s—bringing together talent from all divisions.

This year’s games will be held at Knight Park, Fairfield.

Sakina (a) was the most beloved daughter of Hussain ibn Ali and used to sleep on his chest every night.

Like any other four-five year old, when Sakina (a) went to bed at night she always wanted to spend some time with her father. Imam Hussain would tell her stories of the Prophets and of the battles fought by her grandfather Imam Ali (a).

Hussain ibn Ali was often heard saying, "A house without Sayeda Sakina would not be worth living in".

On the 2nd of Muharram, the army of Yazid ibn Muawiya began to gather at Karbala, Hussain ibn Ali said to his sister Zainab, "The time has come for you to get Sakina used to going to sleep without me".

Peace be with you, O pampered one of al-Hussain, the one who cried “Who made me an orphan though I am still a child?”

The sacrifices rendered by the great Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) are not only recognized and respected by the Muslims but all over the world.

The month of Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar year. Every injustice and oppression reminds us of Karbala, the tragic incident took place on the tenth of Muharram.

Imam Hussain (AS) not only gave the world and humanity concept of justice in practical terms but the whole world accepts the fact that Hussain (AS) saved Islam from destruction by sacrificing his precious life.

The great scholars, writers, philosophers, and world leaders who said wonderful things about Imam Hussain (AS) include Dr. K. Sheldrake, Charles Dickens, Thomas Carlyle, Edward Gibbon, William Muir, Allama Mohammad Iqbal, Browne, and so on.

Mahatma Gandhi said: “If I had an army like the 72 soldiers of (Imam) Hussain, I would have won freedom for India in 24 hours.”

Washington Irving, American Author, said about Imam Hussain (AS), “It was possible for Hussain to save his life by submitting himself to the will of Yazid, but his responsibility as a reformer did not allow him to accept Yazid’s Caliphate. He, therefore, prepared to embrace all sorts of discomfort and inconvenience in order to deliver Islam from the hands of the Omayyads. “

Dr. Rajendra Prasad said: “The sacrifice of Imam Hussain is not limited to one country, or nation, but it is the hereditary state of the brotherhood of all mankind.”

Reynold Alleyne Nicholson: “Hussein fell, pierced by an arrow, and his brave followers were cut down beside him to the last man. Muhammadan tradition, which with rare exceptions is uniformly hostile to the Umayyad dynasty, regards Hussein as a martyr and Yazid as his murderer. “

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru: “Imam Hussain’s sacrifice is for all groups and communities, an example of the path of righteousness.”

Edward G. Brown, professor of Arabic and oriental studies at the University of Cambridge, in his book, wrote: “Imam Hussain’s sacrifice is for all groups and communities, an example of the path of righteousness.”

Dr. Radhakrishnan said: “Though Imam Hussain (AS) gave his life almost 1300 years ago, his indestructible soul rules the hearts of people even today.”

Charles Dickens said: “If Husain (as) had fought to quench his worldly desires, then I do not understand why his sister, wife, and children accompanied him. It stands to reason, therefore, that he sacrificed purely for Islam.”
