Taking a holiday break is the best kind of recovery for the mind and body but hitting the gym may be a little harder when you get back. And that’s ok don’t beat yourself up it happens.
A couple of things to remember when you’re back in the gym don’t push too hard too quickly, you don’t want to go from zero to 100.
Instead start slowly, gradually increase the frequency, duration and intensity of your exercise program to make sure you avoid injuries.
Warm up and stretch, drink lots of water and allow rest days.
Make a plan, set achievable goals, start with small weekly goals and as you tick those off set news ones for the following week.
Try and stay consistent, listen to your body and be patient. Before you know it you’ll be back into your routine and reaching those goals.

New day, new week that means it’s time to set some mini goals for the week.
Having a long term goal is great, but setting mini goals is what will help get you there.
For me this week it’s:
1️⃣ Nutrition.
I’ve been a little lazy with food and indulging in take-away food in between my client training sessions so this week it’s meal prepping and bringing healthy snacks with me to the park.
📝 I’ll make an exception on take-away coffee ☕️☺️
2️⃣ Weight Training.
Prior to lockdown I was strength training 4-5 times per week, as well as boxing and focussing on core strength.
Since lockdown I’ve maintained my boxing and cardiovascular fitness but this week it’s about scheduling time and getting back into some weight training. My goal, 2-3 times this week 💪
3️⃣ To-Do-List.
Catching up on paperwork and life admin stuff.
I feel great satisfaction in crossing off items on that to-do-list 😀 It helps clear the mind so you can focus on things you love to do 🙃
4️⃣ Drink more water 💦
