🏃‍♂️ Rhodes Runners #232 🏃‍♀️

We could feel the early warmth of Spring in the air already as we ran along the Rhodes foreshore to Dyson Street! ✨️

There was lots of chatter and laughter as we hit the pavement together, and we even ran past our speedy friends Quicksale Run Club 5 times 🤩

Our very own Geordie was blessed to receive a late entry to TCS Sydney Marathon through Achilles. Thank you Geordie for your selfless contributions to the running community, and good luck to the runner he will be guiding (if you've ever seen the speeds Geordie runs at, you know they're gonna need it) 🚀🚀🚀

Well done to our crew who ran City2Surf last Sunday! It was a beautiful sunny day (unlike last year if you recall hehe 🌧), and we saw some incredibly impressive PB's from our crew and friends despite the massive crowds 🔥

Massive congratulations to our reigning Athlete of The Year, Henry Chen and his dog Taro Chen, for winning the Bay Run Festival Dog Race last Sunday! 🐕 It was Henry & Taro's first official race together and they smoked the competition by a long shot! 🔥 Big cheers to our friend, Caroline Chong from Quicksale Run Club, who paced the human event, and stayed back to take photos and video of the boy's epic win! 🫶

Another huge milestone we are excited for this Saturday, will be the wedding of our lovebird runners, Jacinta and Dom! 👰‍♀🤵‍♂️ Congratulations on finding your PB person and we wish you a lifetime of love, good health, and happiness 💕

There is a special OPRC volunteer takeover at Rhodes parkrun this Saturday so please come down and give these legends a cheer as they give back to the community 💛🖤

On Sunday 9 August is one of our favourite events of the year, the long awaited City2Surf! All the best to the 90,000 participants who will run, walk, or jog the course 🎊

Well done and congratulations to Adrian, who is the winner of our World Cup competition! ⚽️🏆 And a big thank you to Andi for organising such a fun activity! 🙌

Our crew were treated to a hell of a prize tonight with my favourite course of the year, a double serving of hills, Princes Street AND Dyson Street! 📈 What a shock to the system that must have been to our new starters 🤭 But it can only get better from here, right? 💪

🏃‍♂️ Rhodes Runners #227 🏃‍♀️ Hills pay bills 🦿

The hills were alive with Princes Street firing up week 1 of City2Surf hill training 💩 Our enthusiastic runners ran the course effortlessly, but I think the new starters got a bit of a shock to the system (I mean, there's a reason Princes Street even has stairs 🤣).

We're really in the depths of racing season now with everything from Harbour10, Sydney Ultra Marathons, and who could forget the almighty behemoth, TCS Sydney Marathon, all in the upcoming pipeline! 🎉 We love seeing the aptitude of training from our crew and fellow run club friends on Strava. Keep up the good work! You've got this! 🙌

Lastly, flu season is well and truly amongst us so please be careful out there and look after yourself, your family, and friends 🤧

It's State of Origin game 3 tonight (woo hoo!) but that didn't stop our runners from lacing up and stepping out with us on the Rhodes foreshore 💪

Sensational efforts were seen at Gold Coast Marathon last Sunday, with many of our crew and friends going up and giving it their all 🙌 Race day often comes with surprises (good and bad), so be proud of yourself for the training and efforts you've put in ☺️

A massive congratulations to our crew who competed in Hyrox from 2-5 July. It has become such a monumental event and we were all on the edge of our seats! 😬

It's the first day of the new financial year and we're celebrating in style by tapering for Gold Coast Marathon 😎 We were also honoured to bump into superstars Quicksale Run Club and took a cute pic together on Dyson Street 🫶

We wish all our crew and friends who are travelling up to GC a safe and happy race on Sunday 5 July! We couldn't be more proud of how much time, effort, and diligence you've put into making this happen. Whether it's your first marathon or you've lost count of how many, we're inspired by your dedication and hard work. Please keep being you! ✊️

Also on Sunday is the long awaited Hyrox Sydney. A star-studded line up of our stunners have now transitioned into hybrid rockstars so let's wish them luck on the grueling course! You've got this (but don't let the wall balls get you!) 🙌
