Happy Global Running Day everyone! It's no coincidence that such a special occasion falls on a RR night in the first week of every June 😉 Thank you to all our regular crew for running with us and welcome to the new faces that have joined! We're so happy to have you all onboard and hope you'll enjoy many more runs with us! 💫

In other news, I often encourage runners to visit Rhodes parkrun, and just last week it was formally recognised in the House of Representatives, with each of the run directors praised by name on the official Federal Parliament record 🤩 Part of that team also make up the RR committee and its long standing members: Declan, Lorraine, Deborah, and myself, so we thank you and our wonderful community for making Saturday mornings the best part of the weekend ☺️

🏃‍♂️ Rhodes Runners #220 🏃‍♀️

It was our last run of Autumn! 🍂 Debbie made her annual appearance at RR and it was an occasion to celebrate. So great to have her back with us and we look forward to seeing her again next year! 🤣

Speaking of annual celebrations, join us this Saturday 30 May for the special octogenarian event at Rhodes parkrun 🎊 They won't just be running it, they're making the whole thing happen! All the current Rhodes Run Directors will be in attendance to show their support, so it will be an occasion worth writing home about 🥹

Lastly, a big shout out to Jonnie who turned up with Hydralites to ensure our runners were cool and hydrated 💦

What a magnificent weekend for our runners! Well done to all our UTA champions, in a massive undertaking like no other in the beautiful Blue Mountains! ⛰️ We'd like to congratulate Harrison, Jason, Jonathan L, Debbie, Jinwoo, Paul, Shovan, Grace, David B and Truc on their tremendous display of strength and endurance 💪

We can't wait to hear all about your experiences, but until then, please rest up and recover well ☺️

A bit closer to home on Sunday was the Sydney10! Our runners waved goodbye to their old PB's and welcomed new ones in one of Sydney's favourite racing events. Let's goooo! 🚀

It was a wet and chilly evening, but our runners laced up and showed up! 🫡 How amazing you are! 🥹

Coming up this weekend is the behemoth of trail races, the almighty Ultra-Trail Australia By UTMB! Our crew have been training long and hard for this, with some even utilising regional marathons as humble training runs to help get their mileage and stamina up for this event 🤯 Run strong and finish safe everyone 🙏

On Sunday, we have the Sydney10. One of our favourite local races of the year and we're expecting a star-studded line up of heroes from local run clubs and all across Sydney 🫶

We were taken back to the good old days this week as we were joined by RR OG superstars Grace Qiu and Jinwoo Ahn 🥹 Grace is visiting from Hong Kong, and Jinwoo just landed from Korea to get ready to take on UTA100 next week. It's great to have both legends back us! 💪

If you're stuck for ideas on where to take your mum this Sunday, Yochi is offering free Yochi if you reach 25k steps by 2pm, otherwise buy-1-get-1-free for 10k steps. So get mum running (or walking) 😂

Good luck for taper week to everyone who's running at UTA next week. Stay safe, train smart, and we can't wait to cheer for you 📣

🏃‍♂️ Rhodes Runners #216 🏃‍♀️ PBs, Majors, and Bdays 💥

It was a fantastic long weekend as David Kinnane ran his very first marathon in his hometown of Ballarat. He set an absolutely blistering PB, but it wasn't the only PB that day 🥹 Our dear friend Farhan, travelled 11hrs by train to surprise David at the home stretch, and ran a portion of the marathon to es**rt him to the finish line 🫶 If that's not friendship, I honestly don't know what is. Massive congratulations David, and thank you for being you, Farhan!

Viraj Mitra also ran at supersonic speeds to lock in a stellar PB at London Marathon. The smile on his face says it all! 😆

Coming up this Sunday is the Hoka Half. Good luck to all our crew and friends who are competing! 💪

Hope to see you at almighty Rhodes parkrun this Saturday as Debbie and I lead its 11th birthday 🎂🥳 It'll be a great shakeout run for Hoka 😉

🏃‍♂️ Rhodes Runners #215 🏃‍♀️ Race Mania 💥

WOW, what a week! We could barely keep up with the amount of races our crew competed in! 😵‍💫

Alan Sun, Farhan, Jason Lin, Jon C and Nick triumphed in Wollongong marathon. Bjorn Tandean blitzed the half marathon, and Jullie and Amber smoked the 10km. PB's and smiles were aplenty! 💪

Debbie gave the Backyard Ultra a run for its money and we are so proud! 👏

Fearless Geordie Owen ran strong at Boston Marathon and did not miss a beat! 🔥

Wentworth Common parkrun will finally reopen post Easter Show (where I will be run director and host a very special Anzac Day event), so see you there or at Rhodes parkrun 🫶

Lastly, Viraj Mitra and Morgan are taking on London Marathon on Sunday 26 April. You've got this guys! ✊️

Great vibes tonight crew🔥

We had Bec and Macca (Hobart Mara) and Amit (10K Canberra) flying the flag, while the boys, Alan, Viraj, and Nick are dialling in for their big events over the next week or two 👊

Our good friend Peter Johnston is extending a well deserved break in South Africa after his Two Oceans Ultra last weekend, nabbing a time of 6hrs 08mins for a 56km effort. JUST. WOW. 👏

No pressure to the crew will heading down to Wollongong to tackle the Marathon / Half Mara and 10K races. Good luck all 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️👊

Or indeed Geordie Owen making his annual pilgrimage to Boston Marathon that is on Patriots Day in the USA 🇺🇸🦅... I'm not sure if 42Kms will be enough for Geordie though 🤔

Nancy is back and absolutely did the Geordie roar justice 💪💪💪 and, as always, plenty of laughs, good energy… and a well-earned round of ice pops to top it off @ Dyson. No wonder we seem to have so many more RRs at the top of Dyson... its the icy pop incentive!!!

With the Easter weekend behind us, it was time for the crew to work off those chocolate calories!! However, if your name is Alan Sun there is no escaping stacking on those calories at the Easter Show 😳

First daylight savings night run for the crew. Big welcome to more than a handful of new runners this evening, hopefully you enjoyed the joys of Dyson Street 🏔 😬

Welcome to all our new members Runners on our 7km / 10km routes, hope to see you on many more Wednesday's 🙂

April is shaping up to be a big month for the squad, below is a snapshot of some of the races and apologies that I would have missed many pp!!

🇦🇺 Wollongong Marathon (April 18) with Alan, Farhan, Jason, Jonathan & Nick running the full Mara, with others joining for the halfie!

🇦🇺 Canberra Marathon (April 11–12) many of the crew will be down and also doing the 10K!

🇬🇧 London Marathon, word on the street is that Viraj & Morgan are going global on April 26!!

🇺🇸 Boston Marathon, Morgan backing it up at one of the world majors, joining our fearless Geordie on April 20!!!

And of course RR superstar Nancy Yan will be putting in KMs in 🇰🇷... just watch your step around the DMZ!!
