๐Ÿ†โœจ SVN ACADEMY โ€” 80th Independence Day@ ICC SYDNEY WINNERS! โœจ๐Ÿ†
What a proud moment for SVN Academy of Dance (Sri Vidya Natyalayam)! Our group had the honour of performing and placing among the winners at ICC Sydney, as part of the 80th Indian Independence Day Celebrations presented by the Indian Consulate.
Our dancers brought the story of Ramayanam to life through a powerful 3-minute natyam storytelling piece, embodying Janaka, Maricha, Ravana, Sita, Lakshmana and Hanuman with grace, strength and devotion. Every gesture and expression carried the weight of the story we were honoured to tell. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’ƒ
This moment is the result of countless hours of practice, passion and dedication from our students and their families. Thank you to the Indian Consulate for this incredible platform, and to everyone who cheered us on. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณโœจ
Proud doesn't even begin to cover it โ€” this is just the beginning for SVN Academy! ๐Ÿช”

โœจ A proud moment for the SVN family! โœจ
SVN Academy of Dance took part in the 3rd Talent Show, hosted by the Indian Consulate of Sydney, at the Redgum Centre, Westmead, on 26 July 2026 โ€” and we're thrilled to share that we placed "3rd" among 15โ€“20 classical dance groups from across Sydney! ๐Ÿ†
Congratulations to every SVN student who made this possible.
The Group: Tiara- 4adults and Jewel - 1 senior girl

The Challenge: A 3-minute time limit, and a story to tell. Classical dance has three forms โ€” Nritya (footwork and expression), Natyam (storytelling), and Nritta (pure footwork). We chose Natyam, and set out to tell the story of the Ramayana in just three minutes, set to music from the blockbuster RRR, brought to life with props and heartfelt abhinaya.

Our Cast:
๐Ÿ™ Ranjitha garu โ€” Janaka & Maricha (the golden deer). Fresh off her Mt. Kailash yatra and barely recovered, she stepped in for a last-minute change and gave it everything. Thank you for adapting so beautifully.

๐Ÿ˜ˆ Mahitha Yadala โ€” Ravana. Playing the villain is never the easy part โ€” it's the antagonist's wickedness that makes the hero's light shine brighter. Mahi embraced the challenge and made it unforgettable.

๐ŸŒธ Novina โ€” Sita. She didn't just play the role, she became it. There's no other way to describe it โ€” she simply was Sita.

๐Ÿน Ananya โ€” Lakshmana. She adapted to every last-minute change with total commitment. Your future in this art form is bright, Ananya.

๐Ÿ’ Krithvik โ€” our showstopping little Hanuman, who stole the audience's hearts. You rock, little one โ€” may you reach great heights!

What set us apart:
1.Strong storytelling
2.Thoughtful use of props
3.Powerful music choice
4.Heartfelt expressions (abhinaya)
5.A tight, focused group that never felt cluttered on stage

What we're taking forward: With younger talent, larger formations, sharper song selection, and an even deeper read on the audience in the room, we know first place is within reach.

Every performance is a step forward. This one was a big one for the SVN family. ๐ŸŒŸ

Congratulations to everyone โ€” onward to the next stage! ๐Ÿ’ƒ
