2025 IWPSSA NETBALL: REGIONAL TRIALS

On Monday 26 May, IWPSSA participated in the Sydney East Regional Netball Trials at Netball Central, Homebush. The following students from our Zone competed for a spot on the SE Regional team alongside 110 students from other Zones:

· Evelyn W and Kira T (Abbotsford)

· Niah K and Rosalie S (Croydon)

· Hayley H (Drummoyne)

· Katelyn Y (Enfield)

· Eloise B (Five Dock)

· Aubree R and Genevieve A (Haberfield)

· Maia J (Russell Lea)

Teams initially played five games, with Inner West placing 4th overall in their pool. They then played off against Wiley Park (4th in Pool B) and in a tense final, both teams ended in an 8-8 draw.

The day encompassed a high level of competition with quick turnarounds, but it was a lot of fun for our team, who bonded quickly without any prior team practice.

Of all the players on the day, 25 were shortlisted, including Hayley (Dr) and Aubree (Ha). The quality of play during this time was exceptional and it was very hard to pick a team of ten. With coaches conferring and the SE Convener’s final decision, both girls narrowly missed out on being selected.

Huge congratulations to all our students who competed on the day. Mrs Boyle was extremely proud to have them represent Inner West.
