Achieving a successful workout doesn't necessitate pushing yourself to the brink, and here's why adopting a more sustainable approach can be beneficial:

1๏ธโƒฃ Consistency Over Intensity: A key factor in fitness progress is consistency. Overexerting yourself in a single workout might lead to burnout or, worse, injuries, jeopardising your ability to stay consistent over the long term.

2๏ธโƒฃ Avoiding Overtraining: Intense workouts every day can lead to overtraining, which can have adverse effects on both your physical and mental well-being. Overtraining can result in fatigue, decreased performance, increased risk of injury, and even negative impacts on your immune system.

3๏ธโƒฃ Enjoyment and Mental Health: An excessively strenuous workout routine may not be sustainable in the long run if it feels like a constant struggle.

Feeling a dip in energy during the afternoon is a common phenomenon, often leaving us perplexed and seeking answers.

One primary factor contributing to this slump is the natural fluctuation of blood sugar levels. After lunch, when we consume carbohydrates, our blood sugar rises, leading to a subsequent insulin release. However, a few hours later, this can result in a drop in blood sugar levels, triggering fatigue and the infamous afternoon crash.

Additionally, our circadian rhythms play a role; there's a natural dip in alertness in the early afternoon. Lifestyle factors, such as inadequate sleep or stress, can exacerbate these issues.

Understanding these contributing factors empowers us to make informed choices to mitigate the afternoon energy crash. Simple adjustments, like choosing complex carbohydrates over refined ones and managing stress, can make a significant impact on sustaining energy levels.
