Hello Waratah members. It's been a while now since we have been able to attend the range.
We have been notified by Auburn academy that they will be re opening on the 11th October for the general double vaccinated public again. This will make our first attendance on the 13th October since the lockdown occurred.
Please note that the re opening comes with rules and regulations as per NSW health and Range guidelines. The range is only open to those who are either double vaccinated against Covid 19 or have a medical exemption. Proof of either is required to enter the range. QR code or sign in at the front door is also required with evidence shown to management. Masks are still mandatory indoors and that also includes inside the firing range. Only exemption will be the RSO if there is situation regarding safety where clear communication is required. General conversation will require face masks to be worn by the RSO. Due to capacity restrictions with the range it self, there will be no sharing of Bays even if from the same house hold. This is due to our B range having a maximum capacity of 7 which only allows for 5 members, 1 RSO and capacity for 1 other RSO if required.
Today's announcement I believe has increased indoor capacity caps but still limit the areas to 1 per 4sqm.
As a committee, we appreciate you may have different views from the government road map and vaccination program and we respect that. However also please don't get offended if you are refused entry or asked to leave for not following the rules that we unfortunately have to follow and enforce. The rules are government mandated and not our own personal opinion.
On a side note, construction at the site has begun with the new carpark and factory level above. This means that on site parking is extremely limited and there for street parking may be the only option in some cases. As we have also not been to the range since lockdown, we are unable to give any other feed back on access sorry.

Hi Waratah Members,
As you are aware greater Sydney is under another stay at home order. There are only a few exemptions and unfortunately indoor sporting activities is not one of them.
This means the next Waratah fi****ms club shoot will be on the 14th July and the next Waratah fi****ms competition will be held on the 4th August.
Please keep an eye on the media for any further extension to the lockdown period. If the lockdown does unfortunately get extended, our next meet will be the following Wednesday after the lockdown is lifted.
Please pass on this message to other members.
Stay safe
Frank.
Evening Waratah Members. The following has been received from the Auburn Shooting Academy.
Hi Everyone,
With the recent outbreaks in several suburbs of Sydney, we are implementing a mask on before entry policy for a minimum of 2 weeks, any person not wearing a mask will be politely asked to leave.

Upper Management
Kind regards

Happy New Year Waratah Fi****ms Member
Just a reminder, The range will reopen this Sunday 3rd Jan 2021. Our first Club meet will be the 6th Jan 2021. The committee wont be at full capacity until the 3rd Feb which also coincides with our first Club Comp night. As the committee wont be at full capacity, there will be NO club guns available for hire until the 3rd Feb. If required, you may hire a firearm direct through the Range.
Please note, as per the announcement today masks will be mandatory in most indoor venues. As this was a range requirement prior to the Christmas break, it will now be mandatory to wear a mask while inside at Auburn Shooting Academy.
Kind Regards
Waratah Club Committee
