What an awesome race to the gold coast
Backed up our 3rd overall and won our division which in turn was one division up from last year.
Leaving us to fight with the big boys in division 0.
It was a well Lit race where none of the crew got much sleep.
Absolute legends the entire crew everyone put in 100% and if it wasn’t for a couple of kites blowing up we would’ve had the chocolates. Also big shout out to JUSTINE ANSON for preparing the boat and making all the food couldn’t have done it without her.
Launch it 🚀🚀🚀

Awesome first race for the start of the summer season.
AP for about an hour and half waiting for the breeze to fill in finally getting away up to Lion island and back. The breeze was shifty and light but we managed to finish the race just after 1800 a lot of boats couldn’t finish inside the time limit.
And after falling into a hole and letting About Time slip past us it was hard to catch up so We ended up Second overall on IRC.
All and all fun day Awesome crew and now we line up for the first BWPS race next Saturday down to Flinders Islet 88nm of fun.

2023 Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race FINAL UPDATE
Wednesday 2 August 0500hrs
There has been a procession of finishers over the past 24 hours which has kept the staff & volunteers at Southport Yacht Club very busy.
53 boats have now completed the 2023 race with only two entrants still on the racetrack - Reve & Flat White - who are only 2.3 NM & 5.9 NM out from the finish line respectively. They are currently doing 6-8kts & will be in the Clubhouse by sunrise.
Only two of the 57 starters retired from the race - Z7 & Lexi.
TRACKER: https://goldcoast.cycaracing.com/tracker/
STANDINGS: https://goldcoast.cycaracing.com/standings/
It has been a generally slow race since Saturday's start at 1300hrs which has placed constant demands on tacticians & back-of-boat brains trusts throughout. Some got it right; others didn't.
