Why Para Fencing?

Para fencing is an exciting and inclusive sport that helps young people build confidence, independence and resilience in a fun and supportive environment. Through fencing, children develop coordination, balance, reaction speed and upper-body strength while improving focus, decision-making and teamwork. Most importantly, para fencing creates lasting friendships and a strong sense of belonging, where every athlete is encouraged to challenge themselves and celebrate their achievements.

Who Can Participate?

Junior Wheels & Steel is open to young people aged 11–18 living with a physical disability, including:

• Amputee or limb difference
• Spinal cord injury
• Cerebral palsy (CP)
• Stroke
• Neurological impairments
• Orthopaedic impairments
• Other physical disabilities affecting mobility

No previous fencing experience is required — beginners are always welcome, and all equipment is provided.
