This National Reconciliation Week, the theme “All In” reminds us that reconciliation is not a spectator sport, it’s something we all take part in, every day. 💛
At the NSW Hall of Champions, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible achievements of our First Nations athletes, who truly go all in for their passion, their communities, and their sport.
We honour the legacy of inspiring inductees including:
🏉 Arthur Beetson OAM (Rugby League)
🏐 Nicole Cusack (Netball)
🏉 Laurie Daley AM (Rugby League)
🥊 Joseph Donovan (Boxing)
🏉 Mark Ella AM (Rugby Union)
🎾 Evonne Goolagong Cawley MBE AO (Tennis)
🏉 Michael O’Loughlin (Australian Football)
🥊 Dave Sands (Boxing)⚽ Harry Williams (Football)
Pictured in this post is a stunning 1996 artwork by Ginger Riley Munduwalawala, Munanga (white fella way) AFL Football. Long before modern football codes, First Nations Australians played Marngrook, a game involving up to 100 players and a possum-skin ball, where skill and community came together as players leapt to catch the ball kicked high into the air. A print of this artwork is kept in the NSW Hall of Champions archive.
We invite you to learn more and be inspired by these remarkable athletes by visiting the Hall of Fame on Level 3 of the Quaycentre. Their stories, showcased through images and biographies, are a powerful reminder of the talent, resilience and culture that shape Australian sport.
Let’s all go All In together. ✨

As we gear up for Game 1 of State of Origin at Accor Stadium , we’re throwing it back to a moment that changed Blues history forever 💙
In 1985, NSW claimed their first-ever State of Origin series win! Leading the charge was legendary captain Steve Mortimer OAM. In the second game of the 1985 series, Mortimer fell to his knees on the muddy turf of the SCG in euphoria of the Blues’ 21 - 14 victory and was chaired off the field. The Jersey from this game, while not currently on display, is kept in storage as part of our Hall of Champions museum.
A true icon of the game, Mortimer represented NSW 16 times and captained the Blues across two unforgettable years. Today, he’s rightfully honoured as an inductee of the NSW Hall of Champions.
You can discover more of Australia’s greatest sporting moments at the NSW Hall of Champions, Level 3, Quaycentre. The Hall is open seven days a week and is completely free to check out!

Our newly upgraded Athletic Centre took centre stage over the weekend - and athletes hit the ground running.
The massive upgrade delivered a world‑class gel‑layer track surface, improved accessibility features for para‑athletes, and refreshed field event infrastructure, all set to support school carnivals, club meets and elite championship competitions.
We were thrilled to welcome Member for Parramatta, Donna Davis MP, Athletics NSW CEO, Christian Renford, and Chris Giles, CEO Little Athletics NSW, who joined our CEO, Neisha D’Souza to officially cut the ribbon and mark this exciting new chapter for the Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre.
Athletes made the most of the new track at the NSW Junior Championships over the weekend, setting the tone for a strong season ahead.
