The biggest mistake women make in menopause isn’t what they eat.

It’s believing weight loss should be the only goal.

For many women, menopause is the moment they realise the strategies that once worked no longer do.

Train harder.
Eat less.
Push through.
Rely on willpower.

For years, those approaches may have seemed like the answer.

But menopause often requires something different—not because you’ve failed or because you’re getting older, but because your body is changing.

After coaching women for more than 30 years and experiencing my own menopause transition, I’ve learned that lasting results rarely come from knowing more.

They come from consistently showing up.

Building strength.
Prioritising protein.
Supporting recovery.
Developing a resilient mindset.

And understanding that progress doesn’t require perfection.

That’s why I created the Power Pause Method.

Not another meal plan, challenge, or quick fix.

A framework designed specifically for women in menopause to help them build strength, improve nutrition, prioritise recovery, and create sustainable habits.
Because lasting results don’t come from doing everything perfectly.

They come from doing the right things consistently.

If you’re tired of starting over every Monday and ready for a different approach, send me the word POWER and let’s have a conversation.

For a long time, I believed the answer was…

To work harder.
Train more.
Eat less.
Push through.

And if things weren’t working, I just needed more willpower.

Then menopause came along and challenged everything I thought I knew.

I started to realise that more isn’t always better.

Sometimes the answer is…

Better recovery.
Better sleep.
More strength training.
Less stress on your body.
And perhaps most importantly, a different mindset.

One that stops fighting your body and starts working with it.

That shift changed my results.

And it’s one of the reasons I’m so passionate about helping women navigate the menopause transition with more confidence and less confusion.

Because what got us here isn’t always what will take us forward.

Have you found yourself having to rethink your approach to health, exercise or nutrition during menopause? 💚

Ten years ago, when I started Lindsey Black Fitness & Wellbeing, I never imagined menopause would become such a huge part of my work.

Like many women, I experienced changes that I wasn’t expecting.

The low energy.
The brain fog.
The disrupted sleep.
The body changes.

The more I learned, the more passionate I became about helping women understand what was happening and what they could do about it.

Today, my focus is helping women build strength, support their health and navigate the menopause transition with confidence.
Because strength sits at the centre of everything I teach.

I’d love to know…

What’s been the biggest challenge for you during menopause?

Most women tell me they want to lose weight.

But when we dig a little deeper, that’s rarely the real goal.

They want more energy.

They want to feel stronger.

They want to feel comfortable in their clothes.

They want to feel confident in their body again.

That’s why strength sits at the centre of everything I teach.

Because strength isn’t just about how you look.

It’s about having the energy, confidence and capability to keep doing the things you love.

So I’m curious...

What’s your biggest challenge right now?

A. Weight gainB. Low energyC. Strength lossD. Poor sleep

Most women expect the body changes that can come with the menopause transition.

What many don’t expect is what happens to their skin.

The conversations I hear over and over sound like this:

“My skin doesn’t look like it used to.”

“Where has this pigmentation come from?”

“I’ve suddenly developed melasma.”

“My skin feels dry all the time.”

“I’ve lost my glow.”

“Nothing seems to be working anymore.”

At 59, I understand these conversations because I’ve experienced some of these changes myself.

And while many women choose injectables, I have personally chosen not to.

Instead, I focus on supporting my skin the same way I support my body.

Strength training.

Protein.

Gut health.

Sleep.

Stress management.

And a consistent skincare routine.

Because the goal isn’t perfection.

The goal is healthy skin.

The goal is confidence.

The goal is feeling comfortable in your own skin and recognising the woman looking back at you in the mirror.

If pigmentation, melasma, dryness or loss of firmness has become part of your menopause story, send me a message with the word SKIN and let’s chat about what has been working for me and many other women.

One thing I’ve learned after years of coaching women through menopause...

Things change.

Your body changes.
Your energy changes.
Your skin changes.

But just because something changes doesn’t mean you stop taking action.

What worked in your 20s, 30s or even 40s may not be what works now.

That doesn’t mean you’re stuck.

It means it’s time for a different approach.

Strength.
Nutrition.
Sleep.
Skin health.
Mindset.

Small decisions repeated consistently can completely change how you feel in this season of life.

What has been the biggest change you’ve noticed during menopause?

If you’ve ever stood in front of the mirror wondering why the weight keeps creeping on despite doing all the right things, you’re not alone.

From most of the women I speak to, menopause is all about weight gain.

The belly.
The scales.
The clothes that no longer fit.

What many don’t realise is that one of the biggest health challenges during and after menopause is bone loss.

I know this because I was diagnosed with osteoporosis.

That diagnosis reinforced something I had believed for years.

Strength matters.

For your bones.
Your muscles.
Your balance.
Your confidence.
Your independence.

That’s why strength training sits at the centre of everything I teach.

Because strength isn’t just about today.

It’s about building a body that will support you for decades to come.

And that’s a conversation more women need to be having.

Most women have spent decades investing in the wrong goal.

Smaller.

Smaller clothes.

Smaller numbers.

Smaller bodies.

And while they’ve been busy trying to lose weight, they’ve often been losing something far more valuable.

Strength.

The very thing that supports your metabolism.

Protects your bones.

Keeps you independent.

Helps you stay capable as you age.

Nobody gets to 70 and says,

“I wish I’d spent more time trying to weigh less.”

But many wish they had started building strength sooner.

Because strength isn’t about looking younger.

It’s about having choices.

The choice to travel.

The choice to stay active.

The choice to get down on the floor and back up again.

The choice to keep doing the things you love.

Strength is the investment that pays you back for life.

What are you investing in today?

Before a woman ever works with me, she feels it.

The calm confidence.

The strength beneath the softness.

The feeling of, “She gets it.”

It’s not about a meal plan.

It’s not about a workout.

It’s not about being told to try harder.

It’s about feeling seen in a body that has changed.

It’s about understanding why what used to work no longer works.

It’s about having someone in your corner who understands this stage of life and knows how to help you navigate it.

I don’t believe women need fixing.

I believe they need support.

Education.

Strength.

And a plan that works with their body, not against it.

My goal has never been to help women become smaller.

My goal is to help them become stronger.

Stronger in their body.

Stronger in their mindset.

Stronger in the way they show up for themselves every day.

That’s the energy behind everything I do.

If you’ve been following me for a while, I’d love to know...

What’s the first word that comes to mind when you think of my work? 💚

Most women don’t need another diet.

They need to realise that weight loss and health are not the same thing.

During the menopause transition, women can lose muscle, strength and bone if they don’t actively do something to maintain them.

Yet many women are still chasing weight loss as though it is the ultimate measure of health.

While muscle, strength and bone continue to decline in the background.

The scales might move.

But at what cost?

Because the things that will matter most in the decades ahead are not a dress size.

They are:

Strength.

Muscle.

Balance.

Bone health.

Confidence.

Independence.

No one talks about the woman who struggles to lift her suitcase into the overhead locker.

The woman who stops travelling because she no longer feels physically capable.

The woman who worries about falling.

The woman who avoids getting down on the floor because she’s not sure she can get back up.

The woman who gradually starts making her world smaller because her body no longer supports the life she wants to live.

This is about preserving the freedom to live life on your terms.

To travel.

To play with grandchildren.

To carry your own shopping.

To move through life with confidence.

Because strength is not vanity.

It’s freedom.

And the earlier you start building it, the more of that freedom you get to keep.

The choices you make today shape the options available to you tomorrow.

That is why strength sits at the centre of everything I teach.
