Using the holiday downtime to set yourself up for a better and more connected 2021?

If we want to be successful, we need to manage IF and HOW we are perceived online. Unlike Facebook, LinkedIn provides massive organic reach without paying a cent... While a website can often be a cul de sac, that few people visit, LinkedIn dominates the business space.

So much so that from the short time of submitting the below article to the time of publishing the reported number of members grew from 706 million to 722+ million (LinkedIn's own stats).

Here in Australia that is 11,210 million = approx 90% of our workforce.

Navigating a socially distanced world 24/11/2020

Out of sight = out of mind. In 2021, more organisations will formally adopt work-from-home practices and large events such as conferences will continue to be off the agenda. This means that in our day-to-day lives...

We will continue to have less visibility of each other.

👀 Less visibility with the key stakeholders in your business.

👀 Less visibility with our business partners and vendors.

👀 Less visibility with the clients we worked so hard to attract.

If we don’t utilize alternative channels of communication our businesses could suffer, and we personally run the risk of being forgotten...

Keen to know how to stay front-of-mind❓

How to use LinkedIn as a no-cost, time-efficient communication channel❓

Navigating a socially distanced world   COVID-19 has impacted so many aspects of our lives, and even if the current restrictions are lifted before Christmas, large events such as conferences are definitely off the agenda for 2021.…

So, you’re looking for a new job? Hanging out here on isn’t a waste of your time... With more than 40 million companies here offering 14 million openings, it’s not surprising that 9 in 10 use LinkedIn regularly.

Now it’s up to you to stand out.

And that means taking full advantage of all tools at your disposal!

I’ve published plenty of resources on how job seekers can win at LinkedIn (check out here👉
https://lnkd.in/gUj4JzQ), but I’m not the only expert.

There are many experienced, knowledgeable, generous LinkedIn pros across the globe sharing game-changing tips and insights.

US-based career expert Bob McIntosh , CPRW recently published the ultimate list of LinkedIn experts all job seekers should be following – https://lnkd.in/g3KU3Ny

I am so grateful to be included among many incredible voices.

If you are serious about upping your LinkedIn game in an effort to land your next opportunity, I strongly recommend following the 80 names on this list.

Spend some time reading Bob's content, too. I always agree with his advice and considered approach. He’s certainly taught me a thing or two!

The ultimate list of 80+ LinkedIn voices job seekers should follow Like any list one creates, there’s a magic number in mind. It could be 10, 20, 30, etc. Mine was 50 LinkedIn voices job seekers should follow, but then I dug deeper in the proverbial weeds an…

Don't p*e in your swimming pool.

Just one of the nine pieces of wisdom from incredible keynote speaker, culture and change specialist Julie Alexander at the most recent Liquid Learning summit.

It really struck a chord with me around the importance of noticing who (or what) is raising your temperature.

And of finding the right tribe, something I think LinkedIn is great in helping us with...

Click on the next slide and you will see yet another great witticism, from which Julie expanded on how important it is in a VUCA world of constant to 'get curious' and not overcorrect ourselves, to be courageous and comfortable with bouncing forward.

She made me laugh, cry, and left me feeling lifted, enthused and educated - better for the experience of having seen her talk.

I'm very grateful to have had 11 presentations in the past 25 days. Thank you to the many who have attended my and the organisers who have made it happen. If anyone is looking for a speaker who will engage, enthuse and who understands just how important connection is in a world, I highly recommend Julie Alexander Culture Incorporated.

Please tell me, what (or who) has inspired you at a recent event❓

The key to LinkedIn success? Being yourself 06/11/2020

It has taken me 11 years to become an overnight success.
Today, I stand on the shoulders of giants.
LinkedIn giants.

My LinkedIn knowledge has been a collective effort, and my achievements in this space can only be attributed to others.

I am continually learning from fellow experts, growing, improving, bettering what I offer for the benefit of my clients and followers.

One voice that I’ve followed consistently is UK-based LinkedIn nerd and technical copywriter, John Espirian. His generosity is huge, and his advice is next-level.

His book Content DNA is a fantastic read, too. It teaches us - how to shape a business presence that gets us noticed, remembered, and preferred. Check it out here 👉👉https://lnkd.in/g6SamPv

Truly, I’m a huge fan. You can only imagine my surprise when I saw my name on John's list of smart people to follow and work with: https://lnkd.in/gBDf__m

Learning to be myself (more on this here 👉https://lnkd.in/gSnb6Ca) on LinkedIn has been a long time in the making. Recognition like this means the world.

Fitting in was a mistake. Stand out. That’s where the magic happens.

Don’t you agree?

The key to LinkedIn success? Being yourself Do you feel unfulfilled and as if you’re not getting where you want to be? You could be trying too hard to appeal to everyone. Here’s what I’ve learned about standing out from the crowd, and how to stand out on LinkedIn.

Best Of Social Selling 29/10/2020

How much IP should you give away in your content?

I believe people can sense when you are holding back, much like they can sense inauthenticity.

It’s not quite as tangible, but just as off-putting, to know someone doesn’t have your best interests at heart, that there are layers to their commitment, and each layer comes with a cost.

I think this idea of setting gates is pre-historic. Pre-internet. Small-hearted. Small-minded.

And this mindset shows up in your content, in its lack of substance and value.

I was lucky enough to be invited back to Mark McInnes fabulous BOSS -Best of Social Selling to talk to creating content and the latest on how the algorithm works. Below you can hear just one of the ideas we are sharing.

Full episode here 👉https://lnkd.in/ghwMc4V👈

Let us know in the comments, do you think people should give away their best ideas? What if the competition is watching? What if people devour all your content, without paying a cent?

Let us know - is my ‘compassion over commerce’ naïve❓

Because I am the sort of person who leaves her handbag on the front seat of the car, my front door wide open…

I’d love to know what you think.

Clarity always beats cleverness.

Something my grandfather told me often. Too often we see so many messages crammed into content (and also in LinkedIn profiles), so many offerings, different skills and achievements – that we are left very confused as to what it is the person actually DOES.

On Clive Enever - Business Strategist 'Business Conversations with Clive Enever' we tackled this and a tonne of other mistakes business owners often make.
