Dragonboat racing is an adrenalin pumping non-contact team water sport which had origins in Ancient China but now has a presence in countries around the world. It involves 20 paddlers, a sweep(steerer) and a drummer in a purpose built boat competing in races over various distances (200m, 500m - most popular).

Thank you Social Committee for a brilliant send off today to our teams heading to Nationals. With our eyes firmly focussed on the job to do in 10 days’ time we reflect on our State Championship campaign. Wow! Strength and inspiration from these pics which showcase our immense sense of camaraderie, trust in and commitment to our team mates. ‘Awakening the Dragon’ prep! 😍 So proud to paddle with Bei Loon Dragonboat Club where everyone plays to their strengths… well almost (Craig?🔥😉), pulling together to make the ‘Blessing’ of the New Boats a great success today. So much colour, so much team spirit, so much laughter…. What a great morning.😍. The picture story will continue so stay tuned 😁
