Resharing an interview I did a while ago with Sell My Surf Stuff, an online marketplace (www.sellmysurfstuff.com) is created for surfers by surfers where you can find surfboards of all sizes and much more surf stuff from pre-loved to brand new.

🏄‍♂️When did you learn to surf and where?

My first visit to the beach was when I was 1 week old. It was north Bondi. That is where I learned to surf. I was about 6 when I first got on a board.

I remember the Kentucky fried chicken foamies. Also the hanimex single fins and the twin fins.

Wow. So many. I had 7 weeks in Sri Lanka last year but I think my favourite surf trips where when I was in my 20's going down the coast with my mates. There were never any crowds back then.

SMSS. Oh wait. You said that. Lol. Andrew Harris is shaping again. I just got a new Mal and I have another one on the way. Woohoo!

🏄‍♂️What do you see as the future of surfing?

When people realise how long epoxy boards take to repair and the cost of repairs and that they are always creasing and snapping they will go back to polyester boards. I'm happy to repair them while they don't make me sick. That stuff is so toxic. I just feel bad for the customer who has to wait to get their board back.

I can't decide between endless summer and mad wax. Possibly blazing boards too. I'll have to go and watch them all again.

If you want to prolong the life of your surfboard, here's a simple and effective habit to adopt.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After each use, check your board for dings before storing it away. Untreated dings can result in damages which impact your board's performance and your surf experience.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Don't forget too to strip off old wax to spot any cracks or dings that may be hidden beneath!
