Last week, we had the privilege of coming together for the Settlement Services International (SSI) and Usman Khawaja Foundation Strategy Day and what a day it was.

The discussions were rich, forward thinking and full of energy. We mapped out exciting new programs and partnerships built around a shared vision of ensuring every young girl and boy in this country, regardless of background or circumstance, has access to the opportunities they deserve to grow, belong and thrive.

What stood out most was the alignment in values. There was no debate about why we do this work only inspiration and determination around how we can do it better, together. The Usman Khawaja Foundation's belief in the power of sport and mentorship, combined with SSI's deep expertise in community support and inclusion, creates a partnership with real potential to make a lasting difference.

This month we have not one but two Employees of the Month and both could not be more deserved! πŸ†πŸ†

Congratulations to Corey and Bianca!

Both have been outstanding members of the AUSISO team this month. Consistently showing up, delivering high quality programs and going above and beyond for the participants and communities we work with every week.

This is exactly what AUSISO is about. Staff who take pride in what they do, bring their best every single session and make a genuine difference to the young people in our programs.

Corey and Bianca, we are so proud to have you both in the team. Keep doing what you are doing!

Through our partnership with AFDA - Australian Flying Disc Association and NSW Ultimate, we’re proud to deliver Sporting Schools programs that encourage participation, teamwork and confidence through sport.

It’s fantastic to see AUSISO coaches out in schools delivering engaging sessions and creating positive experiences for students across the community. We love receiving feedback like this and seeing the impact these programs are having both on and off the field πŸ™Œ

β›³ Five years and counting!

AUSISO is proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Jack Newton Junior Golf and Golf NSW, a relationship that's been going strong since 2021.

Together we've been delivering the Sporting Schools golf program, helping young Australians discover a love for the game and building pathways for the next generation of golfers.

We were also delighted to join our fellow partners at the annual Sponsors Golf Day and Presentation Dinner at Strathfield Golf Club Ltd, a wonderful day on the course and evening dinner celebrating the people and organisations who make junior golf in Australia possible.

Here's to many more years of growing the game together! πŸŒοΈβ€β™‚οΈ

We recently partnered with Rosa Stathis from The Social Expression to deliver our Multicultural Awareness Worskhop with Randwick Council for local clubs and associations, and what a session it was!

In today's diverse sporting landscape, multicultural awareness has never been more important, helping clubs and associations build welcoming, inclusive environments where everyone can thrive.

We're so excited to continue this partnership with Rosa and bring even more workshops to the sporting community across Australia.

We recently attended the launch of the Committee for Sydney's 'A Sporting Chance' report, a powerful call to rethink how Sydney plans, funds and delivers community sport. Many thanks to Eamon Waterford, Matt Levinson and the team for the invitation to attend the event at CommBank Stadium.

The report identifies some urgent challenges:

βœ… Declining youth participation, especially among girls.
βœ… Multicultural communities moving away from organised sport.
βœ… A system that's been too focused on elite pathways over everyday participation.
βœ… The need for culturally responsive, accessible programs that meet communities where they are.

After reviewing and reading the report, it aligns directly with our work at the Australian International Sports Organisation and our passion for social change through sport.

At AUSISO, we don't wait for the system to change, we work to make sport accessible for everyone with a few examples to highlight this:

🏏 We partner with the to deliver free cricket programs for multicultural communities across NSW, ACT, VIC and QLD, an ongoing partnership since 2018.

⚽ We've delivered Multicultural Engagement Programs for , and , helping peak bodies reach multicultural communities.

πŸ“‹ We support 100+ local clubs, schools and organisations to access grants and funding, so that organisation are not left behind.

πŸ€ Delivered the Daughters & Dads program which brought fathers and daughters together through cricket, basketball and football, directly addressing the gender participation gap the report highlights.

The report calls for sport to be used as a vehicle for social cohesion, health, and community connection which we are aligned with and working on daily.
