Well we’ve finally recovered…. mostly. What a weekend it was, thrills, spills and some great racing.

Before we get into the racing, I feel there are a number of people and sponsors to thank -

Firstly you the racers, without you the event does not exist. You came from far and wide, across Australia, New Zealand and the United States to take part in our first ever indoor Australian Carpet Series event. You put your faith in us and from the feedback we’ve received we delivered on our promise.

Secondly, our sponsors, Psychology Services NSW, JConcepts Inc, Plaig Bearings, ProTek RC, APAC Security, Hire Express, Hobbywing Technology, Reedy, Team Associated, Gens ace RC, Jspec Stickers & Designs, Schumacher R/C Racing, Manufactor.Penrith and Campbelltown Hobbies - without your input the event would have been very different.

Thirdly, RC Race Media, Tony Firth and Tate Firth, Matt Seckold and Christopher Mitchell - the media package for the weekend and race commentary were second to none! Also a special note for Nick Aiken who came through with all the audio equipment used at the event. Not racing, but giving of his time all weekend. Much appreciated.

Finally, those that jumped in unrewarded to help setup on Thursday and pack up after racing on Sunday - just amazing! Your huge effort has not gone unnoticed.

The racing was tight all weekend - across all 7 of the classes. We consciously made some decisions to give the racers as much time as possible on track. We had daily practice, 40+ class racing and a Super Pole shootout - all to provide more time on track and a more fun and challenge to the event.

23,149 total laps across practice, qualifying and mains - pretty remarkable!

For our first event, we’re overwhelmed by the positive comments received in person and online. And as much as we learnt some valuable lessons over the weekend, we still have some areas that could and will be improved further.

ACS Round 1 featured a Superpole on Sunday morning which took inspiration from nitro onroad. Superpole included the drivers who qualified 2nd - 5th and gave them each a 5 lap shootout to potentially change the starting order between 2nd and 5th!

It was great to see all the drivers from around the pits watching the drivers throw down in the high stake format.

The inaugural Australian Carpet Series is now run and done.

We can’t thank enough people - those that came from near and far to join us. Those that sponsored in some way or other. Those that helped out with getting things done.

We’ll do a more detailed summary post, but for now these are your podiums across the 7 classes for the weekend.

Qualifying is all wrapped up and what a day it was! All drivers have been coming to grips with the surface and layout. We saw plenty of close action which will only lead to close finals tomorrow.

4.00pm: Approximate time for awards ceremony
