⛳ He wants more distance… Here’s where I’d start.

Most golfers think they need to swing harder.

In reality, the biggest gains usually come from better contact and better sequencing.

Before chasing speed, I’d focus on these two things:

1️⃣ Find the middle of the clubface.
A centred strike can add more distance than swinging 10 mph faster with an off-centre hit.

2️⃣ Make a full shoulder turn.
A bigger turn creates more potential energy, helping you generate speed without feeling like you’re trying harder.

Distance isn’t just for the strongest golfers. Beginners, ladies and juniors can all hit it further by improving technique before adding power.

⛳ Attack the pin? Here’s my take…

The flag isn’t always your target.

For beginners, ladies and juniors, the quickest way to lower scores is making smarter decisions—not taking on every risky shot.

2 things I’d think about first:

1️⃣ Aim for the biggest part of the green.
A putt from 30 feet is almost always better than missing the green by aiming at a tucked pin.

2️⃣ Know your average distance—not your best.
Most golfers choose the club that hit their “perfect” shot once. Pick the club that covers the distance most consistently.

Golf is about playing percentages. Hit more greens, avoid the big numbers, and your scores will start coming down.

Do you usually aim at the flag… or the middle of the green? Let me know below. 👇

⛳ Want to stay focused for all 18 holes? Start here…

One bad shot doesn’t have to ruin your round.

The golfers who score best aren’t always the most talented—they’re often the best at resetting and staying in the present.

Try these 2 simple habits:

1️⃣ Play one shot at a time.
Don’t think about the last hole or your final score. Your only job is to hit the next shot as well as you can.

2️⃣ Create a simple pre-shot routine.
Take a breath, pick your target, one practice swing, then commit. Doing the same routine every shot helps keep your mind calm and focused.

Golf is a game of concentration, not perfection.

Stay in the moment, trust your routine, and you’ll be amazed how much more enjoyable—and consistent—your golf becomes.

⛳ Should you always hit driver? Absolutely not.

One of the easiest ways to lower your scores is making better decisions from the tee.

Distance is great… but only if you can keep the ball in play.

Here are 2 questions to ask yourself before reaching for the driver:

1️⃣ Where is the trouble?
If bunkers, water or trees are right where your driver normally finishes, a 3-wood or hybrid could leave you in a much better position for your next shot.

2️⃣ What’s the widest part of the fairway?
You don’t have to hit the longest club. Choose the club that gives you the best chance of finding the fairway and setting up an easier approach.

Remember, golf rewards strategy just as much as power.

Play the club that gives you confidence, not the one with the biggest headcover.

What’s your go-to club off the tee? Driver every time, or do you like to mix it up? 👇

⛳ Think you’re inconsistent? You might be more consistent than you realise.

Most golfers remember their bad shots far more than their good ones.

The truth is, every golfer—from beginners to tour professionals—hits poor shots.

The difference is how they respond.

Here are 2 things to focus on:

1️⃣ Judge your patterns, not individual shots.
One topped shot doesn’t mean you’re playing badly. Look at how many fairways, greens or solid strikes you’re producing over a full round.

2️⃣ Measure your own progress—not someone else’s.
If you’re hitting more solid shots than you were a month ago, you’re improving. Golf is about gradual progress, not instant perfection.

Stop chasing the perfect round.

Start celebrating the small improvements, because they add up to lower scores and far more enjoyable golf.

Remember: Consistency isn’t about never hitting a bad shot… it’s about making your good shots happen more often.

⛳ Too many swing thoughts? That’s probably the problem.

One of the biggest mistakes I see is golfers trying to remember five different things before they hit the ball.

Keep it simple.

Try these 2 tips:

1️⃣ Have just ONE swing thought.
Pick the one thing your coach has asked you to work on. Thinking about five things usually means you achieve none of them.

2️⃣ Focus on the target, not your technique.
Once you’ve had your practice swing, trust it. Stand over the ball, picture the shot you want to hit, and commit.

Your brain performs best when it’s focused on the outcome, not overloaded with mechanics.

Simple minds often produce simple, repeatable golf swings.

What’s your swing thought when you play? Or do you try to play with none at all?

⛳️ GREAT PLAYERS RECOVER WELL 💪

Mistakes happen—even the best miss fairways, chunk chips, or leave putts short. But what separates great golfers from the rest is how they recover.
