What a great evening at the Blacktown City Council Sports Awards!
Coach Phil, Laura, Madel and Megan proudly represented our us as finalists for Club of the Year! While we did not take home the award, it was an honour to be recognised alongside so many outstanding sporting organisations. We are proud to be part of Blacktown, the sporting capital of Western Sydney! ⭐️
A highlight of the evening was hearing from Olympian Alisa Camplin, who spoke about the importance of volunteers and grassroots sport in creating opportunities for athletes, officials, coaches and sporting leaders 🥹
This recognition belongs to our entire Embers community. Thank you to every player, family, supporter, volunteer and sponsor who continues to believe in what we are building. Your encouragement, commitment and support make our club stronger every season.
We are excited for what is ahead with you all 💛💙🏀

We’re happy to share that Embers Basketball has been nominated for Club of the Year at the 2026 Blacktown City Sports Awards 🔥
We’re grateful for the acceptance of the nomination by Blacktown City Council and proud to have representatives attend the awards night in July. ☀️ Thank you for the recognition and support!
Embers started and grew in Western Sydney, shaped by women and men who show up each week to either play, coach, volunteer and support one another. What started as a small group of local women wanting to keep playing basketball has grown into a community that has given women a place to stay active, be connected through sport, and has activated the formation of a community-run sports facility in Minchinbury, The Hustle 🌱
Here’s to all our Embers community especially to all those that love us and cheer us on, on and off the court. Thank you for making Embers what it is for many over the years 🎉

Embers Basketball is growing, and we’d love for you to join us as a coach 🙌
We are a women’s basketball community in Western Sydney built on connection, consistency, and a shared love for the game. Coaching at Embers is about more than running drills or calling plays. It’s about being present, supporting players, and helping create a space where people feel valued and encouraged.
We’re looking for coaches who care about team culture, lead with thoughtfulness, and notice the small things that make a difference in a player’s experience.
Experience is welcome, but your character and intention matter just as much.
If this feels like a place you’d like to be, reach out and let’s start a conversation 😁😁
