My hoops a have taught me a lot about harmony. Each of my hoops are individuals, doing their own thing but at the same time staying in harmony with all the other hoops . That way each hoop gets to be who they are - and together create a beautiful hooptastic performance!

Working with little kids in preschools and day care centres has also taught me a lot about harmony. Children don't care what colour, culture or religion their classmates are - they just want to play and have a beautiful time together.

All the kids belong. All my hoops belong. And so do you. Everyone belongs.

Is it a day? Is it a week? Is it a whole month? Who cares? Every day should be about respecting the rights and lives of women and girls!

This year the theme is Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL women and girls. Legal and judicial systems both here in Australia and in many other countries are still skewed against women seeking justice and the protection of the law. This is not OK - it's 2026!

According to UN Women in nearly 70 per cent of surveyed countries, women face more barriers accessing justice than men. . Legal fees, transportation, childcare, lost wages keep millions of women locked out of justice systems.

Want to report an injustice? Be prepared to be ignored, disbelieved, or – worse – blamed and silenced.

For the 676 million women and girls living within 50 km of active conflict zones, justice systems are largely absent and perpetrators act with impunity. Sadly this figure is probably growing as I type.

It's Children's Mental Health Week! This cute video from explains 5 things that parents and carers - and anyone who looks after kids - can do to help them stay mentally and emotionally well.

A Public Service Announcement for parents and carers! (Clears throat)

Creative and Active Kids $50 vouchers issued in January this year by Services NSW have to be used before 31 December 2025 and YES I STILL ACCEPT THE VOUCHERS!

Any families who have two valid vouchers from 2025 can combine them. So that's a total of $100 you could use at....oooh I don't know.... a small business that provides really creative and fun activities for children.... See what I've got on offer at www.jewelzahoopz.com

If you've used yours already, or if you miss the deadline - don't panic! The next round of $50 vouchers for 2026 will be available from 15 January 2026.

And no, I'm sorry, you can't use one for your 43 year old boy Bazza. The vouchers are for families who receive Family Tax Benefit - if that's you, log onto your Services NSW account to register for and redeem.

Yes - it IS the Kindmas Fairy! The Kindmas Fairy has visited me and will be sticking around for a week or two to help me be a bit kinder. The Kindmas Fairy is REALLY nice - and different to that guy in a red suit who hogs all the limelight at this time of year because she can visit anytime of year!

(Please note that the comment regarding the neediness of Santa was from me Jewelz - not the Kindmas Fairy. She's far too kind to say anything like that. See how much I need her help?)

Did you know that there's an International Mountain Day? And it's today!!?

Are you wondering why we need a special day for mountains? Don't worry - I've got you covered. According to the United Nations :

"Mountains cover more than 25% of the earth's land surface and are home to over one billion people. They provide key food sources and most of the world's fresh water.
Yet, the climate crisis and overexploitation present serious threats to mountain ecosystems.
Thursday's World Mountain Day is an opportunity to highlight the urgent need to protect our mountains."
