Warrior 1 Modifications
If stacking the knee over the ankle is too intense in Warrior 1 pose, students can lessen the intensity by not bending so deep in the front leg.
Students can also lower their heart rate by placing hands on hips or hands at prayer.

A beginner boat variation is to keep the toes on the floor and practice lifting up through the crown of the head. Students can also do this variation by reaching hands forward towards the front of the room with palms facing up.
As students build core strength, they can begin to lift their toes off the floor.
