I could happily spend days wandering the streets of Fort Kochi.
In fact, I nearly did. 😉
One morning, our wonderful guide Freddie whisked us away in his colourful tuk tuk, weaving through streets so full of character that I kept saying, “Can we stop here?” every few minutes. I’m sure I drove him mad.
Every corner seemed to reveal something different.
Centuries-old churches, Hindu temples, mosques and a tiny Jain temple, all part of communities that have lived peacefully alongside one another for generations.
Then there are the colourful colonial buildings, artists’ studios, spice shops, the famous Chinese fishing nets and smiling locals who make you feel genuinely welcome.
Fort Kochi has a charm that’s difficult to put into words.
It feels like a little pocket of Europe, gently blended with the heart and soul of India.
Preparing for this retreat has given me the perfect excuse to explore. Tough job, I know. 😉
I’ve wandered from café to café and restaurant to restaurant, making the very difficult sacrifice of tasting the food, all in the name of research, of course.
And the hidden gems we’ve chosen are places I know you’re going to love.
Fort Kochi is where our journey begins.
It’s where we slow down, settle into India and let the pace of life soften before travelling into the tea plantations of Munnar and then our week of authentic Ayurvedic healing.

Seven years.
That's how long it had been since I last stood on the streets of Kerala.
I wondered if it would feel the same.
If the colours would still be as vibrant.
If the scent of spices would still drift through the air.
If the slower pace of life would still have the same quiet effect on my nervous system.
Within hours of arriving, I had my answer.
Nothing had changed.
And yet... everything had.
Walking through the colourful streets of Fort Kochi, I found myself smiling for no reason at all.
Standing amongst the endless tea plantations of Munnar, I remembered how healing it is to simply be surrounded by nature.
Then came seven days at the Ayurveda centre.
Life found a different rhythm.
The days became beautifully simple.
Yoga.
Meditation.
Healing treatments.
Wholesome food.
Conversations.
Laughter.
Rest.
By the time I stepped off our traditional houseboat after drifting through Kerala's peaceful backwaters, I remembered exactly why this place had stayed in my heart for so many years.
Not because it's beautiful, although it certainly is.
But because of how it makes me feel.
Calmer.
Lighter.
More connected to myself.
Returning after seven years reminded me that healing doesn't always come from doing more.
Sometimes it comes from giving yourself the space to slow down, to listen, and to allow ancient traditions to gently bring you back into balance.
It's why I couldn't wait to bring this retreat back.
Not so you can see Kerala through my eyes.
But so you can experience what it awakens in your own.
If this journey speaks to something within you, take a swipe through the itinerary.
Perhaps it's exactly what you've been searching for.

There are moments in life when a single sentence from a teacher stays with you forever.
Today, on Guru Purnima, I find myself reflecting on the incredible privilege of living in ashrams in both India and Nepal, sitting quietly at the feet of teachers whose wisdom wasn't just shared through words, but through the way they lived.
They taught me that yoga is so much more than movement.
That stillness can be more powerful than striving.
That chanting can soothe a restless mind.
That happiness isn't something we chase. It's something we uncover when the mind becomes quiet enough to recognise it.
Those teachings have carried me through some of the hardest seasons of my life, and they continue to shape every retreat I share today.
Guru Purnima is a beautiful reminder to pause and honour the people who have helped bring more light into our lives. Whether they were a spiritual teacher, a parent, a friend, or someone who arrived for just the right moment, their guidance leaves an imprint that lasts forever.
And perhaps today is also an invitation to trust the wisdom within yourself a little more. To slow down, listen deeply, and allow your own inner teacher to gently guide the next step.
With deep gratitude to all of my teachers, and to everyone who continues to walk this path beside me.
Happy Guru Purnima. 🙏✨
I'd love to hear from you.
Who has been one of the greatest teachers in your life, and what did they teach you?

She looked at me and said, "I feel alive again."
There are places in the world that you visit.
And then there are places that quietly change something inside you.
Even after all these years of travelling to India, living in ashrams and bringing groups here, India still surprises me.
Not because of the famous landmarks.
But because of the simple moments.
Walking through the rolling tea plantations of Munnar, watching women in their colourful traditional dress gently picking tea leaves by hand, their simple little houses scattered amongst the emerald green hills.
On one occasion, I was warmly welcomed into a stranger's home when I needed to use the bathroom. She smiled, opened her door without hesitation, and made me feel as though I'd been invited in by an old friend.
It's moments like these that stay with you long after the journey is over.
One afternoon, as we sat overlooking the hills from our beautiful tea estate, Mahima turned to me and said,
"This doesn't feel like a holiday. It feels like my own personal retreat."
She said it more than once during our two weeks together.
Then she shared something that has stayed with me ever since.
"I feel alive again."
That is exactly why I created this retreat.
Not to help you see more.
But to help you feel more.
To breathe.
To slow down.
To reconnect with yourself.
To remember what it feels like to feel truly alive.
Yes, we'll explore the charming streets of Fort Kochi, cruise the peaceful backwaters of Kerala, experience authentic Ayurveda, practise yoga and meditation each day, and immerse ourselves in the rich culture of southern India.
But what I hope you'll take home isn't just beautiful memories or photographs.
I hope you return home feeling more like yourself again.
If India has been quietly calling you, perhaps this is the gentle nudge you've been waiting for.
With just two places remaining, and Super Early Bird savings ending Friday 31 July, I'd love to welcome you on this very special journey through Kerala.

There was a time when I couldn't switch my mind off.
I was exhausted, running on empty, and my nervous system felt like it had forgotten how to relax.
During my years living in ashrams, chanting began and ended each day. It became the soundtrack to daily life.
I never imagined those simple moments would one day become some of the greatest medicine I'd ever receive.
It wasn't until years later, when burnout brought me to my knees, that I realised those daily practices had been quietly strengthening my nervous system all along.
With every chant, every breath and every vibration, my body was learning how to slow down, soften and feel safe again.
They weren't just spiritual rituals.
They were medicine.
Today, sharing these simple sound practices is one of my greatest joys. They're one of the beautiful experiences we'll explore together at my upcoming Sydney Hinterland Yoga & Sacred Sound Retreat.
Maybe this is the pause your nervous system has been asking for.
✨ Save $200 until this Friday, 24 July.
🏡 Only 2 Ensuite Rooms and 4 Glamping Tents remain.
If your heart has been whispering that it's time to slow down, rest and reconnect, I'd love to welcome you.
