The Marrickville Meteors have finished their Makara campaign with a win over the Cooks River Dreamers earlier this week. They are currently at the top of their block with the Coogee Coasters and Marrickville Mavericks hot on their heels.
Pitured: Peter Molloy, Ruth Brian who both played singles, and Peter with double partner Gwynneth Shelly Jones. The 4th Meteor, Judy Tonkin was not there for this match.

Marrickville is lucky to have a number of accredited referees, plus a couple of referees in training. Peter Sinclair ensured his visibility (essential at our single lawn venue ;) ) for yesterday's Makara match with a new look for croquet referees. We think it is much better than the construction worker vest that is the norm! Thank you Peter for supporting the players on the day.

The GC Div1 team had a big few days playing 3 tests over 4 days. A great result was the reward with 2 wins out of the 3! There are two more tests to come and we wish them the very best for play in them both! Go Marrickville!

The Meteors continue their stellar campaign in the Makara with a 4/1 win over the Sutherland Strikers yesterday.
It was a great day for croquet and both teams had a great day. Thank you to Margaret Lund for refereeing on the day.

Well it's generally a joy to welcome Diane for a game of AC. Today is the return Gold Pennant match. Marrickville won yesterday's test, played at Wollongong, so we suspect Di was attempting to undermine the continuation of our campaign! She looks surprised 🤔.

All 3 Makara teams, the Meteors, Marvels and Mavericks, have been out successfully this week. Yesterday the Meteors had a trip to Coogee, sealing that test 4/1. One of the games was a timed out tie, with the result determined by a coin toss. Not the best way to win a game, but probably better than losing that way! Thankfully the match result was not determined by the toss, which may be some consolation for Cooge.
Well done Meteors!
