Australian Olympian and current Aussie Shark MARCUS BEREHULAK coaching at our Academy sessions
Throughout August, we were lucky enough to have Marcus coaching some of our Academy sessions. Marcus represented Australia at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and was part of the Aussie Sharks squad for the recent 2026 World Cup Finals in Sydney
Marcus spent time with the young athletes, assisted with training and shared some of his experiences from the national team and international water polo environment. This was a fantastic opportunity for our young athletes to learn from and interact with someone currently competing at the highest level of the sport. Thank you Marcus! 💪🤽♂️🤽

It was an incredibly busy winter season for some of our top junior talents! Over the last few months, NSW have had almost 30 athletes and coaches included in the Australian U16 and U18 Girls and Boys Water Polo World Championships Squads. Their selection was a testament to the countless hours these athletes put in, and we are so proud to see them living out their dreams.
Please join us in congratulating them all on their incredible achievements! Athletes, we can't wait to continue to watch your water polo careers flourish.

What are our state teams looking forward to most at the 2026 NSC, we hear you ask? 🤔
Well, we’ll tell you! 👀 This morning, we headed over to Sydney Olympic Park to ask the boys, and here’s what they said! 🎤
It’s exactly one month until we fly to Melbourne for the National State Championships and we cannot wait to see all our teams representing NSW 💙✈️
They’ve been working hard in training week in, week out and it’s almost time to put it to the test! 🔥
Bring on the NSC! 🙌

⏳ The countdown is on! National Water Polo Day is almost here!
Saturday 12 September is National Water Polo Day, and we’d love to see water polo clubs across NSW getting involved.
Whether it’s a Come & Try session, a club event, a referee or coaching workshop, or inviting your local community to come along and watch, it’s a great opportunity to showcase our sport and get more people involved.
How is your club getting involved? 👀
If your club is planning something for National Water Polo Day, make sure you register your event with Water Polo Australia so we can see what’s happening across NSW and help spread the word. Register here: waterpoloaustralia.com.au/get-involved/national-water-polo-day/
Let’s get as many clubs as possible involved and give our sport a chance to be seen, tried and celebrated!

WORLD CHAMPIONS! The U18 Australian Women's team have made history winning the U18 World Championships for the very first time. We couldn't be prouder of the whole squad, and in particular our NSW girls who played with tenacity, determination, and enthusiasm. 🌎🏆
Congratulations to Ev, Zara, Keira, Abigail, and Alannah who are all part of our NSW Women's Futures Development Program. 🤽♀️
And of course, congratulations to the U18 Assistant Coach Jemma Semmens who will be leading our U17 girls state squad (which Alannah and Ev are a part of) at NSC in a few weeks' time. Jemma has completed the rare feat of winning a World Championship as both a player and a coach, so we are truly honoured to have her. 💙

The wait is over and we are proud to announce the 2026 WPNSW U15 and U17 State Teams💙🤽♀️
Congratulations to all athletes selected to represent NSW at this year's National State Championships, taking place in Melbourne next month. This is a fantastic achievement and an exciting opportunity to compete at the highest level of age-group water polo in Australia.
For our athletes, NSC is more than just a tournament. It's a chance to challenge themselves, build connections with teammates, learn from every game, and experience what is means to represent NSW⭐️
We're incredibly proud of everyone selected and can't wait to watch these teams take to the pool and show what they can do!
A special thank you to the coaches, selectors, clubs, families, and support staff, who continue to create opportunities for our athletes to grow and succeed.
Congratulations and good luck Team NSW👏
