Post for women! When you have your period it is inadvisable to do many of the regular yoga asanas, especially the inversions. Many of us suffer from tiredness, cramps, headaches, backaches and our periods change throughout the life cycle. As well as being the worldβs leading female yoga teacher Geeta Iyengar held a doctorate in Ayurveda and she says β From Day One until the menstruation ends one should stick to the practice of those asanas that help women keep healthy and that do not create an obstruction to the menstrual flow. Those asanas have to be selected which do not make her run out of energy or bring any hormonal disturbance.β ~So, when it is your time of the month, enjoy this inward and restful sequence β and be surprised at how energising it actually is.
