🌧️ Lansvale United Community – Support Needed for Vietnam Flood Victims ❤️

Hi everyone,

As many of you may already know, severe flooding and landslides have devastated Central Vietnam, causing massive destruction and tragically taking over 90 lives and counting. Thousands of families are displaced, homes have been swallowed by mudslides, and entire communities are struggling to access basic necessities.

With many of our Lansvale United players, families, and members being of Vietnamese heritage, there is a very real chance that loved ones, relatives, or friends back home have been directly affected.

One of our members has asked if we could help share a trusted avenue for support. Vietnam Typhoons - Samaritan's Purse - Gift Catalogue Back-to-back storms have left families across Vietnam reeling. Samaritan’s Purse is on the ground bringing urgent relief and the hope of Jesus Christ to those who have lost everything.

On Monday night, Technical Director, Coach Whisky, brought together a talented mix of our U14 Div 3 boys and several other high-performing Lansvale players for a special friendly against Mt Druitt’s U23 Women’s NPL team.

The boys came out firing, showing confidence, structure, and real hunger - leading for most of the match and surprising everyone with their composure against much older, highly experienced opposition.

Mt Druitt’s U23 Women fought back hard, and after a tense finish, the women secured the win from a last minute nail-biting penalty kick.

Final score: 2–3.

A tough loss, but an incredibly entertaining match. The boys did exceptionally well and no doubt learnt a huge amount from the experience. Proud of their effort and spirit!

📣Big News for Lansvale United!

We’re thrilled to announce that Lansvale United Soccer Club and the Vietnamese Australian Soccer Association has been awarded a $5,000 grassroots football grant through the Australian German-Austrian Society Legacy Fund Project, proudly supported by Hallmark Sports!

It was an honour and privilege to attend with our Club President Eddie Odisho, players Hudson and Kayla, and accept the voucher at Hallmark Sports Headquarters in Wetherill Park.

This funding will go directly towards much needed training equipment for our junior players - including pop-up goals, match balls, agility poles, cones, bibs, and more - helping us continue to grow and support the next generation of footballers here at Lansvale.

As a small community club in the Cabra-Vale region, grants like these make a huge difference for our young players and volunteers. Our dedicated committee are always working tirelessly behind the scenes to secure opportunities like this for our kids.

A huge thank you to Hallmark Sports and the Australian German-Austrian Society for their kind gesture, and recognising our club’s commitment to grassroots soccer!

We’re excited to share that our very own Lansvale United committee member and coach, Vu Hoang, is now one of the faces of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 Volunteers Campaign! ⚽🌏

Vu’s passion for football, dedication to our club, and commitment to the community have been recognised on the biggest stage - representing the spirit of volunteers who make world-class tournaments possible.

The AFC Women’s Asian Cup will take place 1–21 March 2026 right here in Australia. Volunteers will be at the heart of the event, and Vu is helping lead the charge to inspire others to get involved.

We’re proud to see one of our own (sneak peak below) promoting the game we all love on a global platform. Well done, Vu! 🙌

The 2-minute marketing video is part of the campaign to promote the tournament, which will take place 1–26 March 2026 right here in Australia. Kayla was chosen to represent the Vietnamese-Australian community, shining alongside other young footballers from diverse backgrounds at Accor Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park. She brought her trademark smile, energy, and passion for the game - a perfect ambassador for our club and culture.

Today, one of our very own Lansvale United stars, Kayla from 12C, had an incredible opportunity to take part in a video shoot for the upcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026.

The 2-minute marketing video will be part of the campaign to promote the tournament, which will take place from 1–26 March 2026 right here in Australia.

Kayla was selected to represent the Vietnamese-Australian community and shine alongside other young footballers from diverse backgrounds at Accor Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park. She brought her signature smile, energy, and love for the game - a perfect ambassador for our club and culture.

Here’s the exciting part: if Vietnam qualifies for the Women’s Asian Cup - and they’re in a strong position to do so with a win tonight against Guam - Kayla will be featured in the final ad!
