Happy Father’s Day from DHMDK!
Fathers and father figures have an important place in our lives. They shape how we see the world, what we understand as strength, and the kind of people we strive to become.
Our founding master was not only a teacher and pioneer of our club, but also a father to two incredible, strong daughters. One of whom has gone on to compete on the world stage in kendo and represent Australia.
For some of us, our journey in kendo began and continued because of our fathers. For others, it was a father figure, a master, or a senior who showed us what strength, discipline, responsibility and perseverance could look like.
Our current master is also a father, and many of our senior members are fathers themselves who continue to train, teach and influence the generation coming after them.
And every week, we see fathers bringing their children through the doors of DHMDK, giving them the opportunity to learn, grow and build character through kendo.
To all the fathers and father figures who provide, support, teach, challenge and encourage
THANK YOU for the work you do, and for the people you help shape.
Happy Father’s Day 💙
