We have to remember that often we must be willing to:
1️⃣ Untangle our understanding of a concept (or a person or an idea or a belief...)
2️⃣ Separate one from the other, and
3️⃣ Be willing to reconnect them in a new way that will support us with our current life and our future aspirations.
In other words, if you're stuck with something in your life, it might be time to update your understanding, especially of yourself! 🤓
Coaching is a fantastic process to help you do this! Seek a coach that has the hours of coaching under their belt because the more time they have spent on this craft, the better skilled they are at untangling. 😉

No change will really happen for our future generations of women if we do not make some changes at home. This means, changing the generational habits we have all brought to the present time of shutting down and silencing girls from a young age. If we do not encourage their voice in the home, how can you expect them to voice their opinions, ideas and their stories outside?
Here are some simple steps for ALL family members to practice at home;
💜Allow her to SPEAK - don't interrupt, don't correct her in the moment. LISTEN.
💜VALIDATE her experience, her ideas, her feelings - there is absolutely nothing you need to change about her experience. Let her share it with you.
💜ENCOURAGE her thoughts about her experience, how to problem solve, how she wants to change something. Encouraging her next steps will help her put words to her thoughts and to action them.
Muffling the voice of a girl will teach her to second guess her opinions, her experiences and her feelings, which decreases her self-confidence. This is a cruel form of discrimination practiced for centuries, taking away the ability for her to use her own voice.
As you continue to champion for equal rights of women all around the world, don't forget to look at the behaviour practiced in your own home. You might find that the biggest change you need to make is in fact, right under your nose.

Gorgeous!💞Happy Sunday!
KNOW YOURSELF
Know yourself they say
and don’t be led astray
but how can I know who I am
when I’m different every day?
Some days I’m the smart one
with the answers people need
and some days I’m the strong one
standing up to take the lead.
On other days I’m sure
that if the wind blew me too hard
I would shatter like a glass
into a million tiny shards.
And on those days I cower
and I hide out from the world
waiting on my inner child
to blossom and unfurl.
And each day I’m surprised
by the newness that I see
the things I’m finding out
the complexity of me.
So how to know yourself
when you’re all things rolled in one?
you simply must decide
to love whatever you become.

I love this art by Dario Castillejos, depicting the 2 identities expected of women - mother(i.e. nurturer of others) and superhero (saviour of others). Just like this picture, it's exhausting. It's unrealistic. It's not all that there is to women.
We need to learn to embrace the every day contributions women make that shifts society towards breaking barriers and head towards inclusion. Big changes don't happen in one swoop or from one event. They happen through small, daily, consistent acts of change by many. The 'either/or' mentality put onto women and 'mum/hero' identity is damaging and limiting. Women are unable to see value in their being with such inaccurate expectations and rejection of who they are in their essence!
Today, yes, we celebrate all those women who have done extraordinary things for us but we must also acknowledge and embrace the women who do the seemingly small things. The ones who carry themselves daily with confidence, self-awareness, kindness and resilience to empower those around them and to better their world through their conscious actions towards equality. They are our mothers, our grandmothers, our teachers, our daughters and our friends, who show up daily to raise each other up. 🙏
On this International Women's Day, make your
✅mindset a priority,
✅your self-esteem valuable to you,
✅make self-reflection a daily task, and
✅communicate honestly.
You are better for your world when you are authentic and making consistent small changes towards inclusion. You don't need the cape, you never did. 💜

My mom taught me the therapeutic power of cleaning. Open all the windows. Throw out the old. Wipe down the entire house. Burn some incense. Roast some coffee. Then rest. That way the tears from last night don’t feel as heavy.
