After a terrific performance in last weeks preliminary final, Luke Stocks continued his great end of season form, hitting an unbeaten century in the grand final.

Stocksy played a near lone hand, spending almost 4 hours at the crease and hitting 102 of the team's total of 177.

A great performance and a match winning innings, delivering another premiership to the club.

Well done Stocksy.

Congratulations to our 5th Grade side who were victorious today in their grand final match against Revesby Workers.

On the back of an inspirational unbeaten ton by life member and club secretary, Luke Stocks, the boys defended their total in what ended up being a nail biter with captain Steve Mitchell picking up the final wicket to start the well earned celebrations.

A great achievement by this group, coming from 4th spot to eventually winning it all.

It’s the final weekend of the 2025/26 season with our 5th Grade side in Grand Final action against Revesby Workers at Amour Park.

After finishing 4th on the ladder, our 5th grade side have excelled under the pressure of sudden death cricket, defeating higher seeded teams in consecutive weeks.

During the regular season, St Christopher’s won their only encounter with a hard fought victory early in the season.

Come down and cheer on the boys as we look to make it 3 premierships for the season and a back to back titles for the 5th grade side.

In the 7th Grade elimination final a few weeks ago, not only did both of these champions score their first 100s for the club, but they also put together an absolutely wonderful partnership of 178 runs, putting the Summer Hill side to the sword in a dominating display of stroke-play and powerful hitting. They both helped get their side to an imposing total of 5/317 which, if rain hadn't intervened, would've been a very challenging ask for the opposition to chase down.

A fantastic effort from you boys, and the club is proud of what you both achieved this season. Well done Luke and Lucas!

Mitcho and Stocksy have been mates for a long time now, and it's a well known fact that the two enjoy their time out in the middle in each other's company. They've had some great batting partnerships in the past, some that have helped post decent totals, some that have helped secure premiership glory, and now they've done it again to help them get their side into this season's grand final.

Mitcho joined Stocksy with the score at 2/68 in the 22nd over, and the two ticked the score along in difficult batting conditions against a solid bowling attack, with rapidly fading light and the threat of lightning overhead. When the game was halted after 40 overs and the score on 2/123, the plan was simple - go after everything they throw at us in the next 10 overs (as the game was now reduced to 50 overs), and they enacted that plan perfectly. In the next 7 overs (before Stocksy's dismissal), they hit a rapid fire 60 runs, pushing their bodies to the limit. Not only for the good of the team, but for each other.

Awesome effort from a couple of club legends, well done boys!

"Don't tell me you're going to take a photo holding the bat AND the ball? Wow..."
- Mitchell Wise, Club President

That's exactly what Stocksy did, in a very important clash against Panania East Hills in their preliminary final. Coming in at #3 with the side in a good position after a solid opening partnership, Luke was very patient with his innings until the lightning stoppage halted his innings on 34, but ignited the afterburners once play resumed on Sunday, very quickly hitting his way to a powerful knock of 69 and helping get the total to something that was very much defendable.

He didn't stop there though, as he demolished Panania's batting line up with the ball and worked in partnership with Stephen Mitchell to trigger a collapse which saw Panania lose 6 wickets for a mere 7 runs! Luke finished with figures of 6/34 from 13.4 overs, which helped cement their side's position in their second grand final in as many years.

Well done Stocksy!

Our 5th Grade captain once again shone with the bat when it was required, Stephen Mitchell came in at #4 and hit a very controlled 52 not out in their Preliminary Final against Panania East Hills. In an innings that was halted on Saturday by a lightning stoppage, Steve's innings resumed on Sunday with his score on 20, where he proceeded to belt Panania to all parts of the ground and put the side in a strong position at the change of innings.

Great effort Steve, well done!

Congratulations to our Under 15 Gold side who won their Grand Final against Illawarra Catholic Club this morning.

After losing the toss and being sent into bat, Ted Wilson (39) and Cameron Sheehy (29) set a fantastic platform with a half century opening partnership. Lachlan Wise (30), Simon Campbell (16) and Lachlan Mortimer (32*) capitalised on the strong platform with some fantastic power hitting, lifting the team to an impressive total of 3/163 off their 30 overs.

With the ball, St Christopher’s got off to a great start with Ted Wilson (1/6) and Tanush Upadhyay (1/3) opening spell putting the team into a strong position. Lachlan Mortimer (1/9), Simon Campbell (1/7), Hadi Aamir (1/8), Oliver McAndrew (1/14) and Shoumik Basu (1/2) all grabbed wickets in a great bowling performance.

Fittingly it was the team’s captain, Cooper Whitham, who took the final catch to start the celebrations.

Congratulations to coach Andrew Sheehy and the boys on a very well deserved and long awaited premiership.
