JACK CLINTON’s 4th Grade Mo's: NCU PREMIERS
*
Score: WRENS 10 for 399 (107 overs) defeated Central CC 0-0
*
Summary: The mighty 4th Grade Wrens finished an amazing season of cricket with a remarkable finish in the Grand Final. Their two finals matches were on the back of exceptional batting performances from our talented batsmen. Both victories finished without a ball being bowled!
*
On a fast Northbridge outfield, the Wrens got off to a great start with the battle plan to bat patiently but with positive intent when the opportunity arose. Wrens young-guns SAM DOOLEY and ROBBIE FLINT showed their class at the top of the order. They played fantastic cricket against the highly experienced Central bowlers who bowled with spirit and determination all day.
*
The Wrens powerful middle order – lead by talented batsmen CONOR RAE, MAX VERNON, JACK CLINTON - capitalised with stylish knocks to build a competitive total. Wrens dynamic all-rounders LACHY HUGHES and TOM HARRIS played aggressive cricket in a superb 120 run partnership. The Wrens kept their best batting performance for the biggest match – the Grand Final.
*
Sincere thanks go to the CENTRAL CC Team! They are a classy and talented bunch of cricketers who play exceptional and fair cricket. We enjoyed the rivalry and sportsmanship! Well done lads!

MICHAEL SENTHILNATHAN’S 5th Grade: NCU PREMIERS
*
Score: WRENS 5 for 161 (45 overs) defeated Cammeray 10 for 155 (63 overs)
*
Summary: The mighty 5th Grade Wrens finished a dominant season with a much-deserved victory in the Grand Final. The win was due to the passion and strength of the mateship and teamwork in this talented Wrens team. Every player contributed something special on the field during the season.
*
The outstanding Wrens bowlers were phenomenal. Needing 10 wickets to win the Grand Final, they had Cammeray at 5 for 69. ANISH JOSEPH & YASH KASBEKAR bowled a torrid opening spell. Despite a strong fightback from the dangerous Cammeray batsmen, HARI RAO, with the spin attack of PIRA KUMARALINGHAM & FAHMID AHMED, saw 5 Wrens bowlers share the wickets.
*
Chasing a competitive 156 runs to win, the Wrens top-order faced a difficult period at the end of Day 1 against the talented Cammeray bowlers. Starting Day 2 at 3 for 19, the Wrens fought hard to be 5 for 64. With the game in the balance, the Wrens powerful middle order of HARI RAO & DARRUN SURESHKUMAR put on a brilliant, unbroken 97 run partnership to win the Grand Final.
*
Sincere thanks go to the CAMMERAY CC team! They are talented cricketers worthy of a GF win on their day. Like all Cammeray teams, they play hard and with tremendous sportsmanship. Congrats!

KING WREN: GRAND FINAL – 2025-26
*
CONOR RAE – 4th Grade Mo’s
*
WHAT WAS HIS ACHIEVEMENT?
*
A century! 108 runs
*
CONOR RAE is an extremely talented and highly competitive cricketer with the bat, ball and in the field. You would not know that when you first meet CONOR as he is a polite lad. Underneath this exterior is a ruthless competitor who plays hard to win, but always in the spirit of cricket.
*
WHAT MAKES HIM A SUPERB CRICKETER?
*
BATTING:
*
CONOR is a classical batsman who plays technical cricket strokes with ease. His scoring shots are perfect flicks off his pads, crisply timed cover drives, and powerful lofted strikes down the ground.
*
His batting is pure class and would rank in the top 5 Wrens batsman. His vast range of cricket strokes include powerful, fast innings when needed, or patient, grinding knocks to consolidate.
*
BOWLING/ FIELDING:
*
CONOR bowls great spells for the Wrens, showing versatility with the new ball or first change bowler. CONOR nips the ball around off the seam on just short of a driving length.
*
He has great variation with the ball, and shows a nice turn of pace to push the ball through a bit quicker to rattle the batsmen. Conor is a genuine wicket-taker whose ability wins plenty of matches.
*
Big congrats to our KING WREN on his outstanding achievements.

KING WREN: GRAND FINAL - 2025-26
*
* LACHY HUGHES - 4th Grade Mo’s
*
WHAT WAS HIS ACHIEVEMENT?
*
A century! 113 runs
*
When LACHY HUGHES joined the Wrens, he came with some heavy expectations. By the end of the season, Lachy was carrying a maiden NCU Premiership trophy under one arm and a Wrens top three in the MVP Player of the Year trophy under the other arm. Lachy is pure class on the cricket field!
*
WHAT MAKES HIM A SUPERB CRICKETER?
*
BATTING:
*
Lachy’s an accomplished batsman with superb hand-eye coordination. He has a vast array of strokes but plays mostly in front of the wicket with front foot, high bat grip, and fast bat speed strokes.
*
Wind him up, unleash him, and watch the carnage unfold. He is devastating and simply punishes the bowling attack to all parts of the ground with heavy power-hitting.
*
BOWLING/ FIELDING:
*
Lachy is highly skilful who plays an ultra-aggressive style of cricket. Lachy is a punishing bowler who bowls fast, out-swinging yorkers at the stumps or into your ribs. Both balls are deadly accurate!
*
Lachy will out-thinks the batsmen by identifying his weaken early. He’s a true match-winner and has a burning desire to win at all costs. This makes him a dangerous all-rounder and a Captain’s dream.
*
Big congrats to our KING WREN on his outstanding achievements.

KING WREN: GRAND FINAL – 2025-26

* TOM HARRIS – 4th Grade Mo’s
*
WHAT WAS HIS ACHIEVEMENT?
*
A match-winning 120 run, 8th wicket partnership
*
TOMMY HARRIS could be the most relaxed cricketer to ever play the game. Underneath this cool exterior is a ruthless competitor, smart cricket tactician, and a highly skilful player. Tommy’s positive attitude blends beautifully with the Mo’s team culture. A genuinely good guy to have in your team.
*
BATTING:
*
TOMMY is an exceptional good middle order batsman. His rock-solid defence, great temperament, and ability to capitalise on the bad ball with great stroke-play makes him a delight for any Captain.
*
His batting strength is his confidence under pressure. He can absorb a bowler’s onslaught, patiently build an innings, then strongly counter-punch. His skill to bat long creates invaluable partnerships.
*
BOWLING/ FIELDING:
*
Tommy’s relaxed, team-first attitude meant no-one knew he was an accomplished wicket-keeper until last year’s NCU finals. When asked, he calmly replied “I’ve kept wicket my entire life!”.
*
His masterful wicket-keeping has been a phenomenal addition to the team. He has strong hands, great footwork, wonderful anticipation, and ability to read a batsman’s weaknesses. A super player!
*
Big congrats to our KING WREN on his outstanding achievements.
